This film is dumb as fuck and I don't understand why it has so many high ratings. For me, the supernatural antagonist in the Collector was idiotic and left far too unexplained. The film started off promisingly but once the Collector actually appeared it quickly became nonsensical with too many suspensions of disbelief, and a lazy gorefest. What it did do right was keep up the tension, which made it watchable to the end, but ultimately it is a very simplistic film that felt like it wasn't too concerned about explaining much, instead focussing on supposedly "cool" traps and deaths.

The Collector guy is one hell of a quick worker right?!!??!? To setup so many traps in a limited time, amazing! I really liked the bear trap one, brutal as heck!

Anyway we have Josh Stewart who plays Arkin an ex-con who works as a handyman. Needing some money to help his wife pay off some loan-sharks, he goes back to the house of the family he works for to steal a ruby. Instead of getting the ruby he walks into a house full of trapped and the family getting "collected" by the Collector.

So, we kinda get a film where Arkin tries to help the family escape while avoiding the Collector and his traps and further in the film it turns into a cat and mouse game as Arkin tries to save Hannah, the youngest of the family.

I really liked the concept of the bad guy, hopefully the sequel tells us about his backstory more. The logic of the film is kinda flawed but the traps were great. In the end "the Collector" isn't anything amazing but for what it is, it is quite entertaining! Which is always a good thing!

This isn't horror; It's simply masochistic shallow weirdness. Also the mechanisms (traps) that magically appear everywhere really make no sense at all. The whole navigation through the house is weird and the main character is strangely shifting between being too calm and panicking. Giving it a 5 because it's not horror, the acting was really not that good and even (as a horror fan) the over-the-top masochism didn't make up for it being scary or gore. All of this kind of made it lose all the tension for me and it made feel empty and unempathetic.

The only good things about this movie are the killer's eyes and the scene with the song "Bela Lugosi Is Dead". I don't know how they edited the eyes but they look really good. The scene with the song is well-choreographed.

Kevin McCalister the serial killer. It was just a movie to show interesting traps and ways to kill people. The story was lacking depth and the action felt forced. Good gore and special effects tho.

This was supposed to be a Saw sequel and that makes sense. It is pretty brutal and there isn't much dialogue due to everyone trying to be quiet for survival and it adds to the intensity. The Collector's design is pretty creepy as well, and I wish we knew more about his background.

Creepy. Disturbing. Scary. Intense. Thief breaks into a home and finds a most unwelcome party crasher.

This is just an OK horror/thriller. There are 2 things about this movie that bothered me tho. 1) the house seems to be bigger on the inside than it is on the outside and 2) it would have taken days to set up all the traps in the house not just 3 or 4 hours.

If you like thrillers just watch the movie it’s good. Don’t read anybody’s reviews it’s better to be surprised, and don’t watch any trailers

Тhis is certainly not the best horror film in the world, but with the help of good effects and tension, the film is watchable and it kept me to the end, which is not today a common case when it comes to movies of this genre. 6/10

In the theatrical release of the film, Arkin notices Hannah through the window with the Collector going in her direction, and returns to save her. In the alternate ending he looks back at her before running away, leaving her behind.

Decent slasher with nice gore and some good kills, has a cool style similar to SAW movies, and the traps are fun and over-the-top. I just can't get over how the main character, Arkin, looks extremely bored the whole time. His one reaction to this nightmare he's trapped in is purely:
