If the system is more important than the people, people suffer and die. Those men didn't have to die.

Of course there is a bit of dramatization involved, it is a movie not a documentary. But I am glad they didn't turn it into an action-cgi-flick à la Hollywood. The message is clear, yet it is not hammered in.

_Kursk_ is an emotional and frustrating movie that offers a glimpse into the tragic events of the submarine disaster. The film portrays the disastrous aftermath of the accident and the struggle for survival of the crew members. The movie is well-made, and the performances of the actors add to its emotional weight. However, while watching the film, I couldn't help but wonder how much of it was actually true and how much was fabricated for cinematic effect.

A long, sometimes drawn out film that requires patience at times. However, the true story is a compelling and maddening one, so the film is occasionally quite powerful.

Very good but also kind of depressing movie because if one knows history, then it's clear that this film doesn't have a happy ending. I also found the cinematography to be very unique. Nothing I've seen before I think.

Buoyed by strong directing, there is sadly not enough action in this true story to act as ballast, but what really sinks the film is an overabundance of clichés.
