Was funny when Ed said come over and have dinner and meet Annabelle, the next scene she looked devestated lol.

Dull. The biggest scare was wondering if Ed would keel over from a heart attack.

@whitsbrain I didn't watch (I never watch horror movies and get scared anyway) for the scares and I thought it was the best in this franchise.

I had a very low expectation because it's Chaves, but it turned out to be the BEST out of three Conjuring films! What makes this film really fresh is that it took a different approach than the first two. It's toned down, there's not many batshit crazy scenes like levitating, flying objects, or constant jumpscares, but it works as an intriguing experience of investigation about a demonic possession that was responsible for multiple murders and this case stakes are much higher that it could potentially put the Warrens at risk. It's very unsettling, the scares are nicely done, the sound is effective. The couple chemistry is far better in this and their romantic moments are less cheesy. Overall it offers a nice change to the franchise without sacrificing the quality of the first two.

@the_argentinian I loved The Conjunring 2, but within the whole franchise, this one is my favorite and I'd say is the best also; if I'd had to rank I'd say this one > TC2 > Annabelle: Creation

3 Thoughts After Watching ‘The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It’:

1. Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson could read the phone book on screen for two hours and I’d rate it 10/10. They’re both incredible and I love their chemistry together.

2. Yeah, it might have been the lesser of the _Conjuring_ trio, but it was nice to see them do something different. Not another straight-up demon or haunted house. The change might have offered less stakes/scares, but it was a welcome change nonetheless.

3. John Noble is a legend and the world needs to see more of him. :pound_symbol:WalterBishop

I love the conjuring universe, but this movie has so little to offer. Earlier conjuring movies show us that jump scares can be smart and good, this movie makes them cheap and lazy. Story was ok I guess, but ending and the hole plot... I just didnt like it. Two main caracters did a fine job in the acting department. Movie is just 5/10 in my opinnion.

The opening sequences are excellent but sadly, the rest of the film failed to conjure up the same scares. Still a reasonable film but it could have been so much better.

Like waiting at a bus stop for the scares to come but they're behind schedule so I just ended up sitting there for most of it.

Out of the 3 Conjuring films, this new one has got to be the least scariest out of them all. However the story is still really interesting and I enjoyed this one.

lacklust : predictible : little to no scare moments. The other movies were on top of the creepyness. They wouldn't use the "jump scare" as much as other films ... but, that was brought back with this iteration of The Conjuring

As a big fan of Vera Farmiga I expected a better performance. Maybe the script didn't serve her well on this one. The movie lacks in scares yet maintains a similar spirit of the series. It's a good one but not impressive.

As a story/film, this is the best of the whole franchise. Not a lot of cheesy "jump scares"; the overall tone of this one was considerably darker and more sinister than the others. There were **obviously** a lot of "embellishments" to the story that blew holes big enough to walk through through the entire plot, but I still felt it was the best of the franchise. I agree with other reviewers that the romance between Ed and Lorraine seemed to be less cheesy and far more "natural" in this movie, which made it easier to watch. Like the rest of the films in this franchise, if you're looking for gore/splatter scenes, you'll probably want to just keep moving. It was enjoyable to watch this more as a "documentary" or a "real-life drama" than a horror movie. And it was great to see John Noble again!

It was fine, not as good as the previous movies. There are a few plot holes that stayed with me after walking out of the cinema. I’m not sure if I missed something or if the movie did a poor job explaining things.

@aszkresnik I am scared it will not be unfortunately due to The Curse of La Llorona not being in the same level of quality as Conjuring/Insidious movies. This one is directed by The La Llorona's director, Wang only being the producer. I hope it's good, but I am scared it will be weak :(

This is the best cinematic universe currently going on besides the Monsterverse. Going to be sad sending off the Warren cases, but it's been 7 or so films at this point, I think it's time for James Wan to kick start a new horror franchise for the 2020's.

actually not a lot of it is real, and not a lot is about the court case, and what the Warren did on Annabelle 3 is ignored. But it lives up to the drama and scares of previous Conjuring titles which are always better than the spin offs.

Certainly watchable, but not up to the calibre of the previous two entries. I thought this would have delved further into the Satanic Panic angle, but instead we get a very washy look at a singular Satanist who turns out to be neither menacing or scary. Turn off the lights and put on a good quality pair of cans and this will certainly make you jump, but there is nothing here outside of cheap thrills to muse or ponder after the credits.
