Overdoes the gore and the hysteria, and becomes ridiculous by the end. But there are some evocative moments, displaying a gloomy tone that befits a nunnery run by zealots.

Bad movie. Hysterical nuns coming in and out of doors in a 20 meter setting. Then a lot of blood and no plot twist.

I LOVE THE BLOOD AND GORE, IT WAS A LOVEY SURPRISE FOR A MOVIE OF THIS TYPE, WISH THEY WOULD HAVE GONE ALL THE WAY AND PUT MORE IN IT LIKE OVER THE TOP MORE AS I HAVE MANY MOVIES WHERE THIS WORKS A TREAT AND PUTS A SMILE ON MY FACE. BUT WITH THAT BEING SAID GREAT MOVIE, VERY ENTERTAINING NO FUSS NO MUSS JUST A GOOD OLD FASHIONED STORY TO BE TOLD AND IT TELLS IT BLOODY WELL. SHAME WE NEVER GOT A SEQUEL OUT OF IT. 8/10

As I started to watch "The Convent", I initially thought: oh here we go again, a period piece (I tend to hate those) and probably another really bad religious Horror movie.
