I watched it... Yeah, that's all I truly got to say after watching this movie.

It's one of those movies that has an incredibly good idea behind it, but once executed, it is worthless.
The two major problems about this movie is horrible acting, especially by the younger "actors", and a lacking story-line.
Because of this, the movie feels bland, and at times even boring.
Add to this the fact that during the most boring parts special effects are quite heavily used, and you could probably already guess the result, which is that the special effects become worthless. I was basically focused on the mistakes at the visual aspects, focus that was caused by the movie itself.

It's really too bad, as the idea in itself is great, and it's also great to see an American movie where Russians are not the enemy, but it can't be denied that the experience is not the same as watching a B-movie, let alone an A-movie, that while the budget is technically that of a B-movie... Really too bad.

The story was interesting, but the execution sadly lacked a lot. It's major flaw was the lack of suspense...you gotta do better than this if you wanna scare people these days.

Certainly not perfect or without flaws, but I think if you are into this kind of movies it can be quite serviceable and enjoying for the most parts of it. It feels pretty cheap often, however.

Saw this in theaters (time is accurate on first play -- my note). I remember nothing but the cast looking familiar. That doesn't mean it's a crap movie. I had a lot of crap going on at the time.

not really a horror (watch life for some major alien horror) but if you go in just for the sci fi it's actually pretty fun. the characters are all likable (except joel kinnaman but he gets his protagonist roles these days to make up for it) and for 2011 the fx are decent. love that the cat got its own lil faraday suit. i like to think it's frolicking around moscow invisible to the aliens or that it made it to the submarine at the last minute.

It wasn't that bad, surely a b-movie that you expect from the Sy-Fy channel but it was as simple as entertaining. Good job on the visuals i must say.

I liked it. Sure, I wish there was more to the story, but it's actually really good.

If you put aside the mediocre cinematography and bad, low budget graphics, the premise is actually not bad. I guess it's just another movie hurt by poor execution. Emile Hirsch and Olivia Thirlby make it better, and without them I would've probably skipped this.

It was a movie just to pass time, I didn't really enjoy it.

Could have developed more, honestly!

A pretty decent alien invasion movie - and it feels really good when a couple of the idiot characters die :).
