The special effects were great, the cast is fine too. But you have the cliche "I have to reunite with my family plot." It doesn't help that Dennis Quaid takes a very long unrealistic walk to NYC to find his son. So yeah, Roland Emmerich freezes everything with no real idea what to do afterwards.

_The Day After Tomorrow_ falls into the familiar territory of a typical dystopian movie, offering little in terms of originality. The plot unfolds predictably, following a formulaic narrative structure that is often seen in disaster films. Although the story lacks depth and surprises, it delivers on the promise of thrilling action scenes and intense survival scenarios. If you find yourself drawn to the excitement and tension that come with doomsday scenarios, it can offer an entertaining escape. While it may not offer anything exceptional or groundbreaking, it still delivers a decent dose of disaster movie entertainment. If you have a taste for doomsday flicks and can appreciate the predictable nature of the genre, this film might be worth considering.

Wonderful way to get a powerful economical message across while also being entertaining. Feel horrible for those people on the ISS watching the world freeze, burn, and die right before their eyes tho. The Idiocracy in people who live on/near a beach and not knowing what a tsunami looks like and it’s signs bothered me though

It still holds up for me, nearly twenty years later. The emotional notes work so well.

This is one of my guilty pleasure movies - something i'll always watch if it comes on. It's just a fun mindless summer-blockbuster popcorn movie. Does it make much sense? No. Full of plot-holes? Yes? Fun? Yes!

How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!

I loved this film since I was little and I'm sure I will never stop to rewatch it. The special effects are amazing and the plot, olso if it isn't so original, is very very exciting

Illogical movie about a giant Tsunami and the following collapse of the world climate. Rather boring.

Good cast, good effects, interesting background story that isn't as over the top as other Roland Emmerich "end of the world as we know it"- movies...

The movie's message is pretty simple:

We either clean the air or the nature does, by freezing everything that is.
