The Deadly Spawn

Toothy slimy alien monsters terrorize the locals in this very low-budget creature feature. It's incredibly silly but at the same time incredibly good fun piece of horror splatter comedy. The plot does not take a lot of thinking about but is incredibly well handled and moves along very nicely. For its budget, the creature effects are impressive making it the highlight of this film. The acting isn't at all rough as well. The characters are surprisingly well-observed and behave convincingly and there's one character who's into horror and monsters that kind of saves the day, which is exactly what I want to see. There's a righteous amount of blood and brutality that is top-notch and so fun to watch. Probably not a film for everyone, but definitely shouldn't be missed by any horror geek. Extra point for the amazing looking poster which is the reason I'm checking this out.
