'The Decline' is excellent, though I would've loved it to have been longer and had depth added to it all.

First things first, I love the cinematography here; done by Christophe Dalpé. The whole film looks magnificent. The premise takes a fascinating look into the human psychology, even if it is a little bit of an undercooked look. It builds tension nicely and has a few surprising moments.

The acting is very good across the board. Réal Bossé (Alain) and Guillaume Laurin (Antoine) give noteworthy performances, but it's Marie-Evelyne Lessard (Rachel) who stands out the most to me. She is fantastic, as she really grows into the role as the film goes on.

As noted at the top, it could've been great to have seen more - have it last, for example, for 1hr 43mins as opposed to 1hr 23mins. More character development at the beginning would've went far.

I was entertained thoroughly, I highly recommend you watch this.
