James Franco really gives a great performance here. The movie starts a little slow but once they start making the movie it picks up. A lot of funny parts in this one. You don't need to see The Room to like this movie but you should to get a better appreciation for what Tommy was able to do.

Maybe not quite the movie of the year I had been led to believe, but hey, it's better than the movie it's about the making of. As much of a chore as it is, I would recommend watching _The Room first_, not as a necessity, just for a better perspective.
