If you can set aside expectations of big Hollywood production and engage in this movie, you might just like it. The young lead actor is amazing. It isn't the most original story, nor does it have expensive bells and whistles, but it's not a bad little horror.

they could have done a lot more with the Djinn and/or past trauma, even in the single location, but they didnt. the kid actor did the best job he could with the material, it was just boring and bland.

@ttown [First, I want to apologize for replying to you here—it's not the correct place, But I can't find any other place to respond to T-TOWN, directly or to original feedback you gave me. I got an email alerting me to the comment you made about filing a Report regarding multiple entries for "jeen-yuhs". You are right! and I did discover this after I left comments on each "extra" page. I did file a Report—but also left my comments so that people who wanted to make use of the entry for lists, or whatever else, understood the 'true' entry. As a side note, I adore Trakt and am a big fan—but wish community network features were more robust.]

This movie surprised me. The kid is good. Appears to have some good acting chops. The movie itself was suspenseful and interesting enough just not that great.

How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!

Decent small set horror which punches way above its budget to deliver a solid 90 minutes of spookiness and tension. Nothing ground breaking but very good for what it is. Between this and The Boy Behind The Door, Ezra Dewey is making quite a name for himself in the indie horror scene. Good stuff.

This was fun! Nothing groundbreaking but it's a well made supernatural horror about consequences of granting a wish. The story is pretty simple with effective scares, decent effects, and great use of a single location. Set in the late 80s, it's a nice throwback hearing those synth tunes. The kid's performance was spectacular although he's questionable at first and I dug the overall feel, it's very eerie and spooky. The ending was great and very unexpected! It did feel a bit too long for the story it had. I wish they did the flashbacks differently, yes they're important but felt too repetitive in this film.
