Exceptional movie. One of the best Australian films. Loved it.

Really good movie. The story was great. The acting was great. A bit slow, not a lot of action but it didn't really need it. I generally don't like flashbacks but they were well done and actually added to the story and the suspense.

The best movie I've seen in quite awhile.

Good acting, convincing characters, wheatfields town. Two mysteries intertwined, bit of a slow burn on the suspects.

Really great story. Love the Australian outback, small town, secrets that everyone keeps. The contrast between the two timelines and how Aaron is still haunted by it is so gripping and tense. Very haunting, some really sad parts in it.
My issues with the film were solely personal: I felt like the overall resolution of the modern storyline was underwhelming and abrupt. I didn't understand the purpose of mentioning that they were in a drought via a titlecard. They only brought it up ONCE.
I did like the red herrings, I felt like they were really logical conclusions. I liked the reflecting that Aaron did throughout the movie, visiting all of the old spots he used to visit. I liked how unexpectedly graphic the film was at times. I really loved the scenes where everyone reacts to Aaron returning. I also liked the way they didn't portray the local sergeant as incompetent. He had some good threads going in his own investigation.
Great film 8/10.

A better than average thriller set in the Aussie Outback. It keeps you guessing right up until the end.

I’ve not seen Eric Bana in awhile, he did well in his role and the film wasn’t anything great but i did enjoy it and liked the way it played, also kept me on the edge but was a little dry in places.

The Dry is an exquisite piece of storytelling; a rounded, twisting thriller from start to finish. Some may find the pace to be a little slow, but those willing to invest in these characters and the barren landscape they call home will be handsomely rewarded with one of the best whodunnit dramas of recent times. Truly great stuff, can't wait to see it again for all the things I missed on my first pass.

An intriguing movie that has two mysteries at its core. One is easy to solve, the other less so, but it’s the characters that matter more than the puzzles in this slow-burning mystery.

Enjoyed this movie alot. Its a slow burn and it builds up beautifully. This is not a movie for our impatient and instant gratification types. Also what the movie is about is the effects of climate change on the landscape of small towns

I can't think of another movie where there were essentially a mystery within a mystery. The stories are well-told and Bana plays a perfectly understated main character. Some people might want to know exactly what happens after the final scene but I think as a viewer we know all that we need to know and everything else is scenery.

I have to say that I was really surprised by this film. It wasn't that the story was overly original, although it was engaging and interesting, but the acting really pulled this together quite nicely. Eric Bana did a terrific job in the lead role, as did BeBe Bettencourt in her role as Ellie Deacon. There were a number of standout performances, but I felt that these two were notable, and they made this film a worthwhile investment of time.
