21 grams separate the living from the dead. It is the weight of the soul. An interesting exercise in steampunk that reuses characters from classic literature and cinema (The Brothers Karamazov, Frankenstein, Sherlock Holmes, James Bond ...) that is too confusing in the last part. It achieves better results as an adventure story than as an existentialist reflection. But there are brilliant ideas like that representation of colonialism through corpse officials, that putrefaction that oppression produces.
