I remember watching this when it came out and not being very impressed or entertained. I was excited to rewatch it (and the second one) in light of the 3rd one coming out. Plus I must have been in a bad mood or something because there's no way a big budget action movie with good ole Denzel in the lead could suck? Unfortunately, it's just as stupid and bad the second time around...

We all knew on some level that Denzel Washington was a badass. The Equalizer was just the movie that hammered it in. That, and the fact that Home Depot can be a dangerous place at night...especially if you got evil intentions. The story is the standard revenge(ish) affair, but Denzel Washington makes it much better. Probably a bit better than it deserved to be, but who cares. It's exciting, the pacing is almost perfect, and the music and cinematography borders on brilliant. I tend to like movies with Denzel Washington quite a lot, so my rating will probably be rather high compared to others. Though...Don't make that dissuade you from checking the Equalizer out. It's really a good movie...trust me.

A one-vs-all action movie, where Denzel Washington goes against russian gangsters in order to help a girl. The action is good, but don't expect it to be realistic.

The name Denzel Washington is one of those names that is capable to take any one to the movies, without even knowing what we have to expect from the film. An actor with enough reputation, he already made ​​major roles throughout his career, has won two Oscars and like it or not "a name" More

Firstly, to fully enjoy this film you have to suspend your disbelief. It seems so obvious to say this in a review but the amount of other reviews that go so bent out of shape about the realism of a single man taking on…well everyone, and the types of weapons used and so on is, as usual, quite high More

Robert McCall (Denzel Washington) is a man full of mystery with a past he is trying to move on from, however he is called into action when a young girl Teri (Chloe Grace Moretz) is being controlled by violent Russian gangsters.

I definitely enjoyed watching this film more the first time around. R More
