This movie holds up. And it has the most stacked cast ever. I will say....
the epilogue where Josh Hartnett is suddenly a football star who still smokes on the field AND is banging his teacher is the most WTF ending ever. He never once liked or talked about football. If he's going to suddenly straighten up and fly right then wouldn't it be science related since you know it's his concoction that saves the day? When he all of a sudden is a football player and takes a drag on a cigarette I was flipping out. So ridiculous.
Some silly moments hold it back from greatness. Otherwise it's fun with a great young cast. But how is the principal stabbed to death in the beginning able to be an alien host ?

Under the radar alien invasion film continues to entertain all these years after its original release. Great fun and worthy of multiple viewings!

Robert Rodriguez directing a young cast: Elijah Wood, Jordana Brewster, Clea Duvall, Josh Harnett and with John Stewart, Famke janssen and Robert Patrick being there too you can expect a decent film! We even got Hyde in there!

And fun it was! You have kinda like a late 90's horror-scifi-scream mix! The plot was kinda meh on the it makes sense part but you'll have fun! The Faculty has that 90's CGI that is always amazing to see where cgi started, we have great Rodriguez gore, some kind of Invasion of the Body Snatchers plot and fun characters. And a kickass 90's soundtrack!

Yes, The Faculty is a fun film which I'm surprised didn't get a sequel like many other late 90's horror products. But maybe that was for the best!

Very interesting move from Rodriguez to follow up something as bold as _From Dusk Till Dawn_ with a film like this. He’s essentially trying to update _The Thing_ for a post _Scream_ movie landscape here. Unfortunately he mostly fails; the acting, dialogue and annoying use of sound effects are all some of the worst stuff I’ve seen in this genre. I was wondering if it was meant to be a campy parody, but some of the execution reads to me as too genuine for it to be just that. Then you get to some of the horror stuff, which is very cheesy and over the top, so that feels like a different movie. It certainly gets more entertaining as it slowly becomes more stupid, but to say the tone of this film is all over the place would be an understatement. The cinematography is also oddly dull and lifeless for a Rodriguez film, maybe he was a little more restricted due to working with younger actors.

4/10

This was definitely a fun movie. I’m shocked that I never watched it until now. I could only imagine how much fun it would have been to watch this back in the 90’s as a teenager.

For a class B horror with a few stars to be, the film hasn't aged all that. +1 for 90's music. :)

I remember this movie because of Usher but he is barely in it lol. Now looking back this had a pretty stacked cast.

This is a well-made sci-fi horror, set at a high school. From the mind of the same writer of _Scream_, _Teaching Mrs. Tingle_, and _I Know What You Did Last Summer_. The obvious influences are _Invasion of the Body Snatchers_, which is openly referenced, and _The Thing_, which had a "test scene" that will look familiar.
The cast is very impressive, and the direction is very straight forward - very unlike other Rodriguez films - that is it say, there is no comic relief.
Even though it is set during the post-grunge era of the '90s, this still holds up today. Good creature effects, a little nudity, Famke Janssen. There is just so much to like here. Fans of high-school supernatural films from the '90s will like this - see also, _The Craft_, and _Disturbing Behavior_. Hell, even if you just like scary alien movies, in general, you'll still dig this.

Fun, entertaining, quotable and so 90s. I'm not usually a fan of cheesy teen drama but here, it's so enjoyable and blends in really well with the sci-fi elements. The dialogue is fast paced, it has a great sense of humor and it's filled with sci-fi/horror hommages from beginning to end. It aged quite well for one apparent reason: it features a bunch of young actors in their debut, before they got big roles and that makes it easy to root for their characters. The characters are endearing and have memorable personalities, every one of them got their time to shine (except for Usher who fades into the background). It's filled with twists and turns and you never expect certain characters to meet their demise. CGI is dated, editing is off at times, some cheap jumpscares, good acting, cool creature design and a wild epic third act. A must-watch for any 90s enthusiast!

Tries to pull off "'The Thing' Goes to School" while poking fun at itself ala 'Scream' but doesn't quite pull of either of these in a satisfying way. Story beats just kind of happen and the cliché way they save everyone is seriously contrived and convenient.

This film is like if Invasion of the Body Snatchers and The Thing had a kid in the 90’s that grew up as a Scream fan. Robert Rodriguez had a stacked cast, a fun plot to work with and the soundtrack was the cherry on top. Still cracks me up that John Stewart is in this.

When bunch of students at Herrington High School start to notice their teachers have been acting a little odd, they believe the school is being taken over by aliens and the faculty try to infect students one by one. I love me a good cheesy 90s horror film. It's not perfect, it's basically a rip off of horror classics set in a high school but I don't care. It's a super fun watch and I honestly can't wait to revisit. While containing same old teen stereotypes you’ve seen million times, like the drug dealer, the nerd, the jock, the popular girl, the goth, it's brilliantly directed and written with a decent amount of creative spins. The performances are great and their dynamics keep the drama engaging. The cast is a stack of rising stars which is impressive. The body horror in this is surprisingly gross. It also has banger soundtrack, a couple of good plot twists, and fun finale with a monster mix of crappy CGI and practical effects.

A typical 90s movie with a great cast. In retrospect, the editing is a little bit weird but then again ,it is typical for the time. Love the dialogues!
The plot is engaging with a little 2nd act drag and the finale was a little bit disappointing.
All in all, a very entertaining film, if taken not too seriously.

When this movie really works, it really works. The send-up of The Thing with drugs instead of Petri dishes about 70 minutes in is a riot. The rest? Too much teenage wish fulfillment. I don’t need to see the nerd make out with the cheerleader to know when the movie is over.
