I’m probably being generous with my rating but it has a good cast and I like baseball. Still get a kick out of the Coop reveal of them being little league teammates. Otherwise, this movie is pretty far from realistic. Kept thinking about how is he able to get locker room phone numbers, know all the player hangouts, finding their homes ect.

THE FAN IS AN SPORT ACTION THRILLER STARRING ACADEMY AWARD WINNING ROBERT DE NIRO AND ACTION HERO WESLEY SNIPES AND ALSO STARRING WITH ELLEN BARKIN, CARLITO’S WAY JOHN LEGUIZAMO AND THE USUAL SUSPECTS BENICIO DEL TORO. THE FAN IS AN DRAMA AND SUSPENSE THRILLER FROM TONY SCOTT THE DIRECTOR OF CRIMSON TIDE, TOP GUN AND TRUE ROMANCE AND I ALSO RENTED ON VHS AND DVD AT THE GOOD VIDEO STORES.

I kept wondering, who am I supposed to root for here? This was a battle between ahole A vs ahole B. I love Tony Scott and there‘s some nice shots here, but whoever wrote that script probably has not written a lot of scripts before or since.

What a bizarre film. The premise is good, though the numbers are laughable compared to today's baseball contracts. $40 million dollars. That's it!?

What was a pretty good 3/4, the last act was too ridiculous to take seriously. Still as a whole fine performances from both De Niro and Snipes even if neither were in top form, but at least appeared to be trying instead of phoning it in as both have done in the past decade or so.
