17 year old Sean who has more chest hair than my 25 year old ass is sent to Tokyo as a PUNISHMENT just to hook up with a hot girl and drive even more races and become the new DK, all while being called a Gaijin 12391239 times and wearing stylish slippers aka. "Wabaki".
God I love that movie.

It seems to have almost nothing to do with the first two, which is a blessing and a curse. Quite enjoyable.

Watch F&F6;, this is based in the future.

1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 3, 7 is the correct order for story.

Like fried food: so bad it's good.

A 24-year-old 'high school student' with chest hair growing out of his t-shirt and a receding hairline moves to Tokyo where he learns Japanese in an afternoon, meets a straight guy who keeps giving him cars to learn about him and steals the girlfriend of a Yakuza-adjacent local so they can go for a romantic, moonlight drift...:rofl::rofl:

On the plus side, there's a welcome absence of "bro, brother, brah, and cuz" at the end of every sentence.

To think I'm the idiot who thought a Fast and Furious without Vin Diesel and Paul Walker might actually be better.

Not as good as the first but better than the second in my opinion. The lead is so weak but the Tokyo setting, Han Lue, the action with the cars is still good stuff to watch.

The leading actor is simply the worst acting in the movie. A Brian knockoff really. The movie is a white saviour bs, and the people that don't see it are the people that probably loved Avatar or something... Still I kinda like it, more for the nostalgia it gives me.

I have to admit, when I first watched The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift I hated it. None of the casts from the first two films are in the third one except for one actor who only shows up in the last ten seconds of the film in a cameo role. On top that the acting was much worse than the previous films and the story line was more lame and boring as well. It wasn't until after I got to see Tokyo Drift's successor Fast and Furious when it hit theaters that I found a new sense of appreciation for Tokyo Drift because of Kang's "Han" which gave the feeling that Tokyo Drift felt like it belong in the franchise whereas before it felt like it didn't... to me at least. Still with my new sense of appreciation Tokyo Drift still is the weak link in the franchise.

Somehow, I never quite warmed up to "Tokyo Drift". I do like some things, such as Justin Lin's direction, the fitting soundtrack, or Sung Kang's Han, who has managed to become my favorite character in the whole franchise. On the other hand, I don't really like Lucas Black as the lead. And "DK" is also a really boring villain. At least the drift concept makes for some entertaining racing sequences. That ensures that the film is mildly entertaining in the end.

Japanese title: Wild Speed X3 TOKYO DRIFT.
This is the one without anyone from the original cast, except for an Easter egg at the end (egg in all senses). The plot follows the oldest-looking high school student ever, who is exiled to Japan as an alternative to jail (?). Along the way, he becomes involved in low-ranking yakuza brawls and learns the graceful drifting of the Nanto school, which seems to differ from the hyperspace jumps of American street races. Obviously, none of the cast is Japanese except for the yakuza boss.

The exotic setting could have offered a lot of new, trashy ideas, but unfortunately, we're back to an overwhelmingly dull and generic action flick that takes itself way too seriously. The only guilty pleasure factor here may be the atrocious dialogue. The car chases are also unwatchable due to the shaky camera movements and fast cuts. I can’t believe they renewed the same creative team for the sequels.

Guilty pleasure score: 4~5
Actual score: 3
Final score: 4

Wow, what a step down, almost feels like they slapped the 'Fast and Furious' name onto a completely unrelated movie that was written by Joss Whedon. Falls into the racist "white saviour complex" where some dumb white guy with a Forrest Gump accent is sent to Tokyo for no good reason, gets a non-Asian girlfriend, joins a group of car enthusiasts who never speak Japanese (even when the white guy isn't present), and saves Tokyo from the Yakuza. It's such dumb garbage... sexist, racist garbage. Even the soundtrack sucks, other than that one song with the chimes.

It’s a good movie if you can get over Lucas Blacks god awful hick accent. That jack ass smile of his too man.

It cracks me up how all these kids have supped up cars and they are what, 17? And as if street racing is this hugely popular thing lol. Dumb and ultra unrealistic.

I’d be surprised if he could butter his own bread let alone build a car.

Thank god he is only in one movie.

Lol and lil bow wow trying to change to bow wow. No sir, you are lil.

It's fine but totally forgettable and skippable. There are some decent driving scenes but the story and acting leave a lot to be desired.

A thrilling high-speed adventure, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift is an impressive addition to the series. After moving to Tokyo to live with his father Sean Boswell gets into the underground street racing scene and becomes the driver for a local gangster named Han. The plot's fairly strong, and does a good job at building the characters and at making them interesting. The racing scenes are also really well-done, and are a lot more exciting and intense than in the previous film. Even though it doesn't have any ties to the original, Tokyo Drift is action packed and feels very much like a part of the franchise.

Still a good film. The franchise should of ended on this film, because it stuck to the style that it started off with, and that's the racing. It was based on need for speed games after all.. I'm glad the franchise has ended.. unless they bring back racing then don't bother..

@cinemanicbonkers it hasn't sadly. F8-9 are garbage. F5 and maybe 7 were okayish. 1-Tokyo -2. That's my ranking ignoring the action ones

"DK and I have caused nothing but problems for you" so lets solve it by racing which started the problems to begin with, along with their attitudes. I wish I was able to just turn my brain off to watch this for the cars and the location but the script is so cringe-y I will never watch this movie again. The actor that plays Han Lue is the only reason I watched this movie completely through. I can't believe I watched this movie completely in theaters. Hopefully the next movie will be better.

Gosh this movie is stupid. Fun, don't get me wrong, but so stupid. It'd make more sense if I didn't remember every 5 minutes that they're 17 and solving yakuza drama with car races
