An island where a strange food source turns animals gigantic. FX look quite bad for today standard, but probably ok for the time, and it's not _that_ bad.

The intro is boring as the main character and his friends are uninteresting. But it gets better as we see start to see new characters and various giant animals and hope to see more. However it quickly becomes limited to only rats and the story turns in just a siege by a horde of giant rats. This highly limits the interest.

Acting, and specially when attacked by animals, is quite bad, even though some characters are interesting.

The end of siege is kinda stupid. [spoiler]Blowing up a dam ? It means the house needs to be in a basin that will retain water up to a certain level, while being directly in a downstream path from the dam. Which would be an extremely stupid place to build a house.[/spoiler]


And lol at trying to burn (even with gasoline) a mountain of completely gorged on water drowned rat corpses.
