This is a movie of many themes though it’s a comedy first. What’s unusual about it is that the core comedic theme is not longer relevant (my father embarrassingly laughed hysterically when middle-age guys stripped, but with my millennial values, I’m more like “get naked if you want to get naked, what’s the big deal?”). That said, its other humour has remained hilarious and quaint and touching and man are there some heavy supplementary themes; all of which are handled with tactful respect because at the end of the day, these are regular people forced to sell sex to make ends meet. Excellent movie that’s walked the line perfectly between comedy and drama. And a shout out to Tom Wilkinson - I thought he stole the show!

This movie hasn't aged well not because of the social behaviour changes but the state of the economic is much worse and people are in but also the not being very shocking or scandalous.

Feel like this film need a much more positive review than the other one on here because this film is fantastic and having grown up in the UK it is viewed as a classic.
