Okay, this is a far cry from the original _Tombs of the Blind Dead_. Yes, all the creepy atmosphere, lighting, and music are there, but that's it.
The plot is paper thin, to the point of nonexistence. The characters are either terminally stupid or evil for no reason.
This is the type of horror movie that will have you yelling at the screen, "do something! Move! Run! Do anything!"
Our living skeletons are still the highlight, but they don't really do much. In fact, they only kill two people, i think. The deaths are off screen, so for all I know, the would-be victims survived. Everyone else dies for different reasons.
The writing is so bad here. I just don't get how no one thought it would be a good idea to have likable characters, and a story that makes sense, up until the point of living skeletons.
Anyway, I'll see if I can make sense of the... plot. A modeling agency puts two models on a small boat, and gets them lost on the ocean - for reasons. A girl, who is either a friend of or related to one of the models goes to question the head of the agency. She is then held against her will, and possibly raped. Already I couldn't believe what I was watching. This same group decides to go on a rescue mission for the girls, along with a... scientist - for reasons. The rest of the movie takes place on an old wooden ship - the ghost galleon. That's really it. Our slow skeletons creep up the place. Dumb people do dumb shit. I think a Darwin award was won.
I'm glad I watched this, because I love the atmosphere, but the movie is just terrible.
