I loved this movie! I think it speaks the mind of many people and I hope it gives those people the courage to be themselves.

Sometimes it is nice just to be put into a movie where the characters are struggling yet very likeable and you root for them. I don't generally seek out this kind of backdrop (nor do I root for happy endings) and it's a pleasure when it happens. This is a movie about two seemingly-anonymous characters whose paths cross. It seems that everyone in their lives is telling them that they aren't good enough or having grown up enough yet, as if these facts are character flaws. The Giant Mechanical Man was a charming and nicely-shot indie romcom that covers pretty well-trodden ground but is pleasant enough regardless. Pam Beasley and Reese Lansing had a nice chemistry and I had a smile on my face for most of it, but Doug still da bess. Don't be vegetation. Try conversation. Directing your wife to kiss another actor must be awkies though.
