I remember watching the first chapter of this franchise and thinking, "A film and a book are two different things, and that difference needs to be respected." The most interesting thing about _The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo_ was the opening credits, and I wished I'd known and had left immediately after them. Yes, I consider that film Fincher's worst, and Rooney Mara's, as well.

_The Girl in the Spider's Web_ isn't flawless. There are plot holes big enough for Lisbeth to ride her motorycle through and some WTFs not even a hacker of her renown could fix. Still, _The Girl in the Spider's Web_ is fun. It has good pacing, lots of action and a story line that lends itself well to cinema. Unlike 2011's _The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo_.

The choice of Claire Foy as the enigmatic Lisbeth Salander was as inspired as the choice of Noomi Rapace in the original Swedish trilogy, as Foy looks hard, not traditionally pretty and not like she stepped out of Little Women.

I know this isn't a popular take but that's fine. While everyone else is over there sharpening their thesauri, I'll be over here enjoying the hell out of a solid action movie.
