This was nothing special. It was an interesting story and was compelling enough for its runtime. Not sure how it will stand up to repeated viewings, in saying that I will more than likely never watch it again. I think many people will draw comparisons to Gone Girl, particularly through its tone and the soundtrack. Acting was on point with a fantastic performance from Emily Blunt.

Not having read the book, I entered the film knowing very little about the story.Emily Blunt carries the dark spirit from beginning to end, I give it a solid 7. Emily Blunt needs to get an Oscar nominee for #TheGirlOnTheTrain tho !

If you, like I, saw the trailer for this movie, and thought, "Why see this? They've given the whole plot away in the preview!", think again! This movie has lots of twist and turns, but it's a worthy ride. The three actresses did a superb job fleshing out their characters. I rate this a 7.5 (compelling) out of 10. I was exhausted just watching Emily Blunt portray a women struggling with her demons to find herself.

I liked, very much, to be realistic.
I felt myself lost in this drunken insanity of Rachel and didn't expect that end.
First off; great acting. Emily Blunt did an amazing job at this role. Okay movie, which ended just in time before it got boring. Kept you off track until the last fifteen minutes, so for me they did a good job. Worth a watch.

So I watched "The Girl on the Train" back in October. Why I'm reviewing it now? That will stay unknown.

This isn't really a review of any sort, but what I got from this and the main Plot Keywords. And that is:

Men are evil

Women are pathetic drunks

alcohol is bad

Hangovers are worst

Relationship sucks

Divorce

Sex

Nudity

Woods

Train

A predicable ending

And Gone Girl did it better (somehow)

A suspenseful thriller, with a plot that is complex and multi-layered. Emily Blunt delivers an excellent performance as Rachel, a troubled woman who becomes entangled in a dangerous web of secrets and lies. Her portrayal is both raw and nuanced, capturing the character's pain and desperation perfectly. The supporting cast is also excellent, with standout performances from Haley Bennett and Rebecca Ferguson. The film's direction is stylish and creates a sense of unease and tension that fills every scene.

Finally watched this movie after avoiding it like plague for years. I always thought of the Girl on the Train as trying to capitalize on Gone Girl fever, but it proved to be a great thriller for a Sunday evening. Hard to watch this woman being a mess for the majority of the film, but once the intrigue grabs you, it's hard to look away.

Better than Gone Girl in my opinion. Emily Blunt's acting is scary good.
To fully appreciate the plot twists, read the book.

After reading the book, I did NOT like this movie. All the good parts of the book were butchered by this. Maybe it was good if you didn’t read the book.
