A courtroom procedural that tries hard and may be guilty of complacency but refuses to be judged too harshly. Those interested in the French judicial system (the civil case and criminal case are tried at the same hearing, for example, so the judgement is the same for both) will appreciate this well-crafted story that may not be exciting, yet is never slow and fills its 95 minutes nicely.

Adapting the Argentine film "Acusada" (Gonzalo Tobal, 2018), based on a true story, this version is more complex. Because it builds, under a judicial plot, an excellent study on the way in which adults "judge" youngers and on the lack of communication between parents and children. It creates intense characters with few moments like the mother or the younger brother. Fair Cesar Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
