I thought this worked on multiple levels. It’s an emotionally affecting human drama, an interesting procedural thriller, and a really tense horror film. They all come together really well to make you feel a wider range of emotions, sometimes simultaneously.

Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne are predictably great in it. Chastain is really empathetic and believable, while Redmayne is appropriately creepy. He is genuinely likable for the first half, and it’s really unsettling how that affability turns to menace while the performance itself hardly ever changes. Even by the end, I still almost felt bad for him.

And the story itself is both interesting and horrifying. I was pretty interested in the procedural aspect of things, and while true stories like this can often seem exaggerated, this one feels really authentic, and I can totally believe this type of tragedy and corruption would happen.

It’s tough to sit through, but if you’re up for it, I think it delivers a very sad, scary, effective story.

Really powerful performances by both Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne. They play off of each other really well. A respectful way to tell this sad story.

A well acted film about a horrific subject. Chastain is brilliant here and Redmayne shines in various scenes himself. It's perhaps a touch too long, but a solid viewing nonetheless. 6.6.

[Netflix] As in the tv show "The investigation" (2020), Tobias Lindholm adopts a point of view that moves away from giving prominence to the murderer to focus more on adjacent characters. This avoids the glorification of crime, but at the same time offers a more human perspective, here focused on the passivity of the health administration that looked the other way. It is an interesting point of view, although it can sometimes be unbalanced.

While worth a watch, this was a slow burn.

I feel some parts of the story could have been omitted and some could have been adjusted to raise this movie to an on-edge thriller.

Instead, you're left with powerful performances which won't leave you disappointed but with a slight desire for more.

5/10 - Average film, would rewatch if suggested

Chastain's performance is as brilliant and classy as ever no matter what role she plays. She's truly one of the rare gems of today's film industry that shines with talent. Netflix though still sucks! Lol!

Great performances from both leads. Jessica Chastain is phenomenal as always but Eddie Redmayne's the one who really impressed me. The story is emotional and heartbreaking and it's the perfect candidate for a true crime. I'm usually a fan of the genre but this one felt too restrained and subtle for me. I get that this is real events and they want to respect the families and victims but you need to add a little bit of spice it just wasn't captivating or thrilling enough. It lacked focus on the killer and the killing, make us hate the guy. That being said the performances are very captivating!

i continue to watch anything jessica chastain does and enjoy it wholeheartedly. blows my mind though how many killers like this actually get away with this and continue to this day to.

also nice to see eddie redmayne playing someone other than a wizard again

A chilling true story that will make any of us worry about our next hospital stay. Redmayne and Chastain both give terrific performances.

Felt more like an episode of a really good TV show than an actual movie. And I legitimately struggled to enjoy most of the performances because it was so damn dark for the majority of it and I couldn't see anything. What a waste of good talent.

Put Jessica Chastain in anything and I’m gonna love it, but my god this is one of her very best. She continually out-acts and out-shines in each scene, but that’s not to say the supporting cast are anything less than amazing.

The true story is perhaps more harrowing than recent series killer films/series, rather than sensationalising them, The Good Nurse takes a chilling angle whereby the antagonist on the face of it, seems incredibly normal.

The Oscars race is going to be interesting and a bit uncertain this year, but I think one thing that’s quite clear, Jessica might get her fourth nomination, and perhaps a back to back win.

Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne are great.. In fact, better than great. Chastain drives in a top notch, believable, heartfelt performance. While Redmayne is brilliant at being likable.. until - he's not. Solid performance. Well put together script. Justice is done to this true story. It'll keep you on your toes! The film does not have a cinematic feel to it. I'd describe it as a Tv movie. However, it is perhaps the best "Tv" movie you are ever going to see. Within minutes, you will not care. The story is powerful. The viewer, that's you, will be tugged willingly, into the world this film is narrating! Enjoy.
