The premise of "The Gravedancers" explores a curse brought about by three friends who dance on some graves while in a drunken stupor.

This movie was very good and at times, was even scary. The ghosts were some of the creepiest I've ever seen. I also liked the two "ghosthunters" that were recruited to help out the cursed threesome.

The hauntings really get crazy as the movie gets into its last half and there's some really stunning imagery. On the other hand, there's the group of actors who play the three friends. They're pretty brutal. They do a poor job of relaying the dire situation that their in. It never feels like there's much danger. But what's weird is that's not an altogether bad thing either, because "The Gravedancers", while lacking that danger, is a lot of fun to watch.

The movie was best during its quiet moments, like when a piano plays all by itself in the middle of the night or the moment when one of the characters walks into the torture chamber of one of the ghosts. If they just could have played on those quiet moments more and cut down on some of the cheap jump scares, I think this could have been one of the more enjoyable horror flicks of the decade.

Wooden acting and cheesy script but neither get on your nerves. It is a b-movie, there is no doubt about it. But the concept is good, execution is fine and the effects pretty good as well. While the two academics are complete stereotypes, the main four characters are all interesting. And I admit, in the finale I was on the edge of my seat.
