[AFFBCN] Although it takes place in the near future, the Philippine reality is not much different. This future in B/W presents a totalitarian state, in the most clearly political film of Lav Díaz, and the portrait of the president is interesting, in his madness of power. The director's reflection, more pessimistic than usual, is how a society that has been oppressed is capable of surviving the feeling of freedom.
