If you have a time-travel concept that wants to answer so many of the annoying and frankly stupid questions that crop up when popular fiction addresses this topic but maybe your budget is shall we say limited how do you create this project in such a way as you get your story across fully and realised.

What you do is you make this film.

Stand up and take a bow Ricky Kennedy and in making this film Mr. Kennedy has ended this type of story for anyone else. You can’t remake this, and I firmly believe that a bigger budget later or at the time would ruin the premise and style of the story.

The film itself is more documentary length and the acting whilst in some sections could be described as perhaps wooden is a strength. If you are interviewing scientists etc they are not actors that is how they would interview it is great.

I cannot ruin the story, but it is cleverly paced, clear and concise and it makes sense within the science-fiction world of time-travel. All those things about Dr. Who, Star Trek and every other fiction that employs time-travel that annoys you are in some way addressed. It is fun and it will make you laugh as the story progresses.

Employing faux documentary techniques of stills, old footage and simple talking heads, the little touches and changes as we progress are so simple that they border on genius.

The scenes and set ups are as realistic as they need to be and anything that might seem obviously fictional in no way detracts from the story because it is the story and what happens that pulls you in and drives the film to its satisfying and actually logical end.

There is nothing more I can really say about The History of Time Travel; I cannot reveal the story or aspects of it as it ruins the film and the scenes/cinematography are adequate for the type of film. The acting to my mind is perfect for what the filmmaker was trying to achieve.

All in all, this is a perfect film about time-travel. I cannot recommend it highly enough. My usual caveat applies, if you like exploding helicopters, car chases and gun fights in your sci-fi this will not be for you. If you like something clever, well-thought out and presented in a realistic manner, if this scenario were real, then this is the film for you.

I for one hope Ricky Kennedy get to use his imagination making more films.
