SciFi doesn´t always have to be epic battles, space ships and ray guns. In fact, Science Fiction is often better when it has a meaning.
I´m not saying this is an epic piece of filmmaking but it´s hardly a wash-up or waste of time. I think it´s an ok movie that actually could even been better had they focused more on the conflicts of the characters.

i would never imagine being so bored with a sci fi movie only after 30m. The plot is shallow, the characters are just empty. I should have known when i read somewhere "from the creators of new moon"...

I'm not by any means a fan of Stephenie Meyer's work, but I did enjoy her book "The Host".
I know that film adaptations often aren't as good as the original source (even great films like "A Clockwork Orange", "Trainspotting" or "The Lord of The Rings"), but this one in particular, as a person who liked the book, turned out as a very disappointing movie.

I was willing to overlook so many of the horrible things they did in this movie. Like the way they handled the Wanda/Melanie situation, or the relationships between, well, any of the characters. Or the characters they wrote out. Or the seeker. But then came the final ten minutes, and they just.. HOW COULD YOU? I didn't even like the book that much, but to screw it up this much? Wow.

Definitely recommend as a drinking game movie, though.

A great opening is drowned by the next two hours of slow, boring torture.

The book is SO much better.
This Movie sucked hard. Not quite as bad as the last Movie of Twilight - but bad enough to make me want my time back..

Really good

It was good and exciting! One thing about myself is that I love love story abd action on the same time, and this movie was exactly that. But it wasn't the best movie I have seen.

I do not understand why so many people hate this movie. Sure its not an action movie, it's more a love story. But I found it to be an interesting mix of scifi and love. I have enjoyed it a lot. And Saoirse Ronan is a truely remarkable actress.

Well what a really great movie,
Didn't know what to expect, but my goodness what a really creative way to tell such a familiar story of
earth Invasion.
This was such a fun charming
Feel good heartfelt
movie but kept up the tension all the way through.
I was genuinely worried for Mel/Wanda's
Safty and Outcome.
Mel/Wanda stole the show and what a terrific performance she put in like wow what an actress,
really really superb.
I loved the humour and the lightheartedness but when it was time to get serious it transitioned in to it perfectly/Flawlessly. I loved how I knew all the faces in this movie from other movies that alone helps me connect with them, but the fact that everyone put in a super strong performance nailed it for me anyway.

I loved how the story evolved from the beginning and got you caring and rooting for different people right the way through. (So Clever).
