Why are you rating movies that haven't even been made yet?

have you seen the date Sean posted the comment? it's 2014. so movie was in the progress that time. so it has nothing to do with you who voted after the release. It's about the people who rated the movie that wasn't made. And people do that often here.

@masseduction Maybe so but it's annoying when so many things on the site's top comment is "Wah wah why are people voting early." It's because people suck, move on, it balances out later and these stupid comments hang around forever.

Mockingjay Part 2's biggest mistake is being completely faithful to the book, considering that it is the worst one of the trilogy. They had the chance to make the story better but chose to stick to what they had. Being the final chapter of the story, it has emotional bits, but miserably (and unfortunately) fails to sell them, rushing the scenes which we were supposed to remember the most. However, its political and action turmoils are its best parts and were beautifully developed. After all, piecing the four movies together, it remains a good story.

This is exactly what I wanted to say, the movie is absolutely perfect, sadly it follows the story of the book too much and there lies it's downfall. I would have prefered it if the movie had gone with an open ending and just decided to leave out the closing part(s) of the book in order to get around the horrible ending presented in the books.

I'm sorry for taking too damn long to reply, I always forget to check these. And I agree with you. I believe giving it a "proper" ending is satisfactory because of all the years the franchise has taken to be completed, but it has its negative side since it's a poor one.

In fairness, I'd bet that Suzanne Collins had creative power over the screenplay and vetoed any rewrite of the ending (or would have), even though the ending is super cringe-y. Just cutting the time skip into the future would have made it better. And an open ending might have been just what the series needed, considering that there's the potential for a fifth film, according to Jon Feltheimer (Lionsgate CEO). But we're stuck with this.

@dgw Really? They're thinking about a fifth one? Are they really that insane (or should I say crazy for money)? That would be awful. I don't even believe Jennifer Lawrence would be up for that — and if she isn't, it would be a problem to promote it with a less known cast. Perhaps if they did a prequel it could be good, though. I feel like Haymitch and Effie stories should be very interesting to see on the big screen.

@aag Amazon X-ray showed the possibility of a fifth movie during the credits, but I also remember it being in the news back in February. It could be either a sequel or a prequel…but I'm with you that a prequel would be better. One of the other things that bothers me about the whole _Hunger Games_ series is the limited perspective. I know it's pretty common in YA stories, but we practically never see anything that Katniss isn't there for, because she's the protagonist. Doing a prequel set before Katniss was born would force the use of other characters' perspectives!

Mockingjay Part 2 is a satisfying, explosive, and well executed end to the Hunger Games franchise, not as exciting perhaps as Catching Fire, but more politically charged.

The first one was good, the second one was pretty great, the third one was decent enough - the finale was just a disaster. Much of that is down to Katniss just being a terrible character - maybe a more capable actress could have made her more relatable -, the rest mostly to the drawn-out and plain unsatisfying nature of the film and plenty of potential that is never achieved.

I watch a lot of movies and this one is one of the worst I've ever seen. It's like a bunch of random scenes put together to attempt to make some sort of a story line. The dialogue was terrible. The ending, terrible. It was boring and WAY too long. Save yourself 2.5 hrs by not watching this feces of a movie.

Incredibly boring. Even the little action we had in-between all that bland emotional drama and the ridiculous love triangle. And I'm still laughing at the ridiculousness of Snow's followers turning on him after some child murder considering they've been killing children for their entertainment for many years. (And don't fucking tell me it was to ration the food, the rich folk's been literally eating to threw it all back up and they were definitely enjoying the show of kids butchering each other). But what is crazier? That or the idea to organise another instance of hunger games? Give me a fucking break... And of course after the war was over Katniss put down her bow and decided to procreate. I watched this shit just to finish this incredibly disappointing franchise and be done with it.

Top marks for the special effects. I heaven't read the books but I do find the storyline confusing... I didn't understand the events of the ceremony at the end. Truthfully I only watched this because I had seen the others in the series but I'm left wishing I hadn't started. My personal grade of 6/10 is a reflection of the special effects rather than any other aspect of the film

It's slightly better than the first part. I didn't like how major scenes are rushed (the death of important characters) because it lacks emotion. We don't have the time to realize what happened, it's too fast and we didn't spend enough time with these characters throughout the movies to really care about their deaths. The ending is okay and bittersweet mirroring the state of this post-apocalyptic world.
