In 1960, Professor Ruckus Mandulbaum invented the Titan badge - a device that enables humans to have a particular super power. He took in three down-on-their-luck youths, creating an unusual family of superheroes and they quickly rose to fame and prestige. Over time, however, the commercial family fractured and the Professor replaced the team with a new set of super hero teens. Cut to 1979, when two of the original superheroes are all grown up and wanting their Titan badges back, even if it means robbing the Professor's museum and taking a few hostages accidentally.

Cary Elwes was fantastic. I feel like everything else was lacking. I like the setup but the movie just needed more of something. Comedy, quirkiness, twists, good characters...... Something. Was a nice original idea done in a retro way, which I very much appreciate in this day and age of remakes and requals.

:heart:x6 This was an odd little movie. Definitely a style of its own. This seems like it potentially could be more of a cult film. The fact that it was different/unique enough made it watchable. How I rate: 1-3 :heart: = seriously! don't waste your time 4-6 :heart: = you may or may not enjoy this 7-8 :heart: = I expect you will like this too 9-10 :heart: = movies and TV shows I really love!

The Hyperions envisages itself as an atypical superhero story, however, it merely proves yet again that being different is not the same as being good.
