Sadly, I have to agree with the consensus, and against the conventional wisdom that, "age ain't nuthin' but a number", especially when you're an "action movie" icon, and father time is rapidly gaining on you. Liam Neeson was never the super ripped / buff type of hero, but more the everyman or man with a past, pushed to his limits. So, unlike an ageing Stallone, Schwarzenegger, or Lundgren, there's much less muscle memory (and mass) to fall back on, and even camera tricks can't hide what we all can clearly see. The "man with a certain set of skills", has lost a step or two, thus he's now taking on these types of roles. Not really "action", but "action adjacent", or "actionish". Not necessarily a bad thing, if he can find the right script and co star(s). Perhaps playing Danny Glover to a more spry stars Mel Gibson. Hell Even he and Mel Gibson playing two slightly over the hill versions of their earlier screen personas. Like I said, with the right script and director, it could work.

As others have stated, this is an OK time waster, with generic corporate baddies and their henchmen. But also, let us not forget the unspoken hero Skeeter, the Rat.

After a remote diamond mine collapses, ice road driver Mike (Liam Neeson) leads a daring rescue mission over a frozen lake to save the miners.

Liam Neeson is back again with his action thrillers. He portrays a slightly different character than normal, but it feels all the same, which isn't necessary a bad thing. While not a bad movie, it is still a pretty average movie.

The story was a mess in this one. It really didn't a whole lot of sense. Pretty much every other scene when Neeson is not on screen is a boring one. I don't know why that whole corporation storyline is included. Filled with plot holes and dragged the movie down heavily. Didn't mind the miners scenes at the start, but it grown quite tiresome going back their every now and then. Really let the pacing down with these two plots. The bad guys were all over the place and are the worst part of the films.

The CGI was not great for a film that could have been a really enjoyable spectacle. The characters were all flat, and most of the action was nothing more than ok. The script was very poor, and it didn't offer any thrills at all.

Average thriller set on an ice road. 5/10.

Interesting story with lots of action. Not sure I would have chosen this as my first career to drive a truck on a road made of ice. But I guess the story has its merits, especially when it showed brotherly love, not by one, but by two of the actors. Suspense was there and those who enjoy action movies will not be disappointed, although I thought the the main actors took too much of a beating, but that's just me. In the end, this would be a movie I would watch again.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
