Luke Mercier (Dakota Goyo) is a young boy who sets off on a daring mission into the wilderness to reunite a polar bear cub with its mother.

The acting was decent from everyone involved. Dakota was ok for the most part, but his character was a little annoying at times which is down to how he was written. He made some questionable decisions. I failed to really connect with many of the characters as they were not really given enough time to develop. I am not sure I bought into the kids whole motivation for wanting to risk his life to help the cub. At just over 1 hour 30mins runtime, I felt like the first 30mins could have been used to get to know Luke better and better understand his reasoning.

The Cinematography was pretty special and the wilderness despite the harsh conditions is a real think of beauty to look at. Some of the aerial shots were incredible. The score was a little distracting at times and really took away some immersion for me, especially in some of the more emotional scenes.

A lot of this films plot is unrealistic, and I don't buy into it. I am no medical expert but after nearly freezing to death twice, would he really of recovered so quickly both times.

Not a particularly good film, but for a kid watching with his family, there might be some enjoyment for them. 4/10.
