As a big time Arnold fan, it was great to see him on the screen. As a movie fan, "The Last Stand" is just another predictable action movie with nothing special besides watching Arnold come back. The weak supporting cast, and the very predictable storyline make the film boring at certain occasions but also interesting at certain scenes. The film overall at the end of the day is nothing special, but watching a legend comeback to what he does best with a slight softer side is definitely interesting. If you are an Arnold fan like me I would say is worth checking, if you are not I will recommend skipping this.

Have you ever had those "I just want some mindless fun" moments? Yes?!? Then this movie is what you need. Pure medicine for those booring evenings home alone without your significant other.

Don't expect much storywise though...but this movie has tons of explosions, driving, and gunfights to way up for most of that. What did you expect?? Arnold is in this one yah know ;)

Such a weak script... Cliches every second of the movie. Arnold was terrible but he is never been an good actor so...
However we laughed so much at the cliches, the poor script, and action scenes which were ridiculous ... So I give it a 6...
Without these the movie is a 3 or 4...
Americans spending a lot of money on shitty movies like that is unbelievable!

It's pretty simple. If you are the right age to love Schwarzenegger and all his past action hero goodness, you'll be anywhere from okay to happy with "The Last Stand". Arnie seems entirely comfortable playing Ray Owens, a former bad-ass LAPD cop now enjoying the role of sheriff of a small US border town.

Arnold is such a likable actor. His interaction with his young and inexperienced crew of deputies is what makes this movie work. Sure, there are some really good action pieces and crazy fun bits from a sharp cast, primarily Peter Stormare, Johnny Knoxville and Forest Whitaker. But the best thing about "The Last Stand" is just being able to see Schwarzenegger be Schwarzenegger again, albeit on a smaller scale this time.

"You make us immigrants look bad."

The Last Stand is Arnie's best film in the latter revived part of his career. It's directed by the great Kim Jee-woon and has a stellar cast. The action is fantastic, the humor is on point and Arnie is a vulnerable badass! A escaped cartel lord is trying to get to Mexico through Sheriff Arnie's town. He had his deputies are the only ones standing between the Cartel lord and his freedom in Mexico. You get great car chases, a prison escape, a great shoot-out in the middle of the town and one in total darkness and a fun final fight.

Everyone looks to have fun in "the Last Stand" and it showed off. Loved seeing the grandma of the town kill that bad guy. Johnny Knoxville brings energy, Forest Whitaker is always fun to see, we even get Harry Dean Stanton and somehow John Abruzzi, I mean Peter Stormare always finds a role.

If you haven't seen this latter movie out of the career of Schwarzenegger I can only say, what are you waiting for!

Very enjoyable old school action movie.
Fast paced, with plenty of car chases, shootings, ambushes etc that keep you entertained during the 2 hours of film. Fun stereotyped characters and a perfect and believable role of semi-retired sheriff for the 65 yeard old Arnold Schwarzenegger.

BLURAY Quote:
Gabriel Cortez: "Hell, 12000 Mexicans come across every day, you shoudn't mind if one goes back"
Sheriff Ray Owens: "You make us immigrants look bad"

An OK movie. I enjoyed it but it's full of so-so scenes. Not really well written. Like, what happened to the SWAT team in the middle of the movie! They couldn't get new cars and continue their journey to Sommerton? The script completely forgot about them.
Also, I didn't really enjoy the "humour" in this movie, it was mostly out of place and Johnny Knoxville is not an actor! Evidently!

Quite entertaining modern-day "western" with cars instead of horses. They have guns though...and loads of them.

The Last Stand is by no means high art, but it IS an entertaining action movie that never really lets up when it gets going. Arnold has a few more faces than usual in this one, which is never a bad thing. The comedy does not take anything away from the story, but rather ads to it, and despite some use of excessive violence, the action suits the "style" of the movie.

So yeah...quite good entertainment. Even my better half liked it, and she is rather picky.

I never really thought much about Arnie's comeback film. I like Arnold alright, don't get me wrong (I even voted for him), I just never felt this was something I had to see. Then at some point I realized Kim Jee-woon directed it, and I figured I should give it a go. Well, it's no _I Saw The Devil_, but I had fun.

I'm going to give this a "Great" rating **_only_** because it was a completely brainless "disengage and enjoy" action movie. There were more holes in the plot than Swiss cheese, and most of the time it was eye-rolling ridiculous. But if you can just turn your brain off for a couple hours and watch this, it's a great, fun, cheesy action flick. For sure, I was only a few minutes into it when the critic in me started (and kept trying to interrupt the movie) picking this thing apart but I turned off the critic and eventually had a blast watching this. Cheesy? Yes. Unbelievable? Absolutely. Silly? Yes, at times. Predictable? Completely. But worth watching? I would say yes. Don't take it seriously; just enjoy it.
