Very good remake of the Original classic from 94 and yes the story is exactly the same but that's not necessarily a bad thing. A new generation gets introduced to this amazing story and for those like me who grew up with the original it's nostalgia overkill! So everybody wins. Btw the animation is just gorgeous.

A movie that never justifies its existence. I have a lot of respect for what John Favreau did with The Jungle Book. He managed to do something that every remake should aim for, but usually fails to do: improve upon its original. This, however, is the exact same movie. There was zero effort put into improving things, or even do anything different, for that matter. And to some degree, I get it: the original is almost sacred to some people, and they’ll act autistically if you change too much. There’s also an upside to that, which some critics don’t pick up on: if a story works in 1994, it still works in 2019. But you could at the very least try some different shot compositions, or different music cues, or anything to not make this movie completely creatively hollow. Yes, it looks just like a Discovery documentary. At the same time, the realism strips the expressiveness of the animals away, so those things cancel each other out. There’s just no reason to watch this over the original. 5.5/10

I've watched the cartoon so many times and the VHS tape wouldn't work anymore. So needless to say I'm a big fan... I love this version too although it's almost the same there are some big differences.. The made the hyenas unfunny.. All the best funny parts of them are gone which is sad cause I really liked them... Also they increased the role of Nala, why did they do that...pfff probably cause Beyonce wanted to be more important.. Other than that it's a great movie for a new generation and some of the new jokes are better. Timon and Pumba are still epic, and you just don't mess with Mufasa.. That name still gives me shivers

It doesn't have the same magic the original had. It looks impressive but felt slightly off with the realism look. The music wasn't as good but there were still some music cues that gave me chills. I'm glad a new generation is getting this and I had a ok time but I will probably never revisit this one.

oh well, what can I say? It's not bad as critics say, at all.

The CGI animation needs to be really talked. It's **groundbreaking** for real, the way it was "filmed" and choreographed in Virtual Reality, giving a sense of real freedom on the gorgeous computer sets created. There ar More

the '94 animated classic was the first movie i ever saw in theaters, so i went in with an open mind and open heart; nostalgia was on my side but i knew nothing would replace the lion king that i grew up with. i was so excited for this movie, but not nearly as much for the fact that it's the More

I Liked The Movie And It's Story But 99% of The Story Line was Same As The Story Line of 1994's The Lion King

VFX:
No Doubt The Picture Has One Of the Best VFX I Have Ever Seen, It Also Got Nominated For Best Visual Effects In The Academy Awards. But Unfortunately 1917 Won The Award
