It's not that good. The yelling and screaming got ridiculous. It could have been a good story if they fleshed it out better.

It's not as engaging as it needs to be for a movie about death cults, even all the excessive gruesome (albeit well done) effects by the end did little to up the ante. Ultimately I was just bored throughout this thing, which is a death blow for something like this.

This one's interesting. It feels like a generic death cult/home invasion but slightly different in that there's a part that doesn't go where you'd expect. The story is familiar, the execution is messy, everything is silly and nonsensical, at a certain point I stop waiting for it to get better and that's when I start to enjoy its silliness. What makes it funnier is that it's divided into chapters when the chapters don't actually mean anything. What the film does really well is the atmosphere and visuals. It looks amazing and does really well with its modest budget to pull off a great experience. And I appreciate the effort to take a slightly different route to keep the generic plot interesting. I honestly still can't tell if it intends to be so silly or if it's taking itself seriously. Either way it's pretty enjoyable. The performances complement the silliness of the film and it's nice to see Nolan Gerard Funk in a horror film again.
