As far as romantic comedies go, The Longest Ride is above average. Yes, it still delivers the cliche story in a predictable manner with a lust-less ending and a boring climax, but it maintains enough integrity to be seen without regret.

@kvdsteege Its not a romcom. Its a romantic drama. And that is ok, it indeed is above average imo. Cliche perhaps, but most movies are. This is the kind of movie for a rainy day, together with your beloved. It has a good story and good acting. The writing is also pretty good. I expected Hallmark quality, but this movie did not deliver on that and I'm glad it did not.

There are no limits to how much you can sacrifice for love, and once you do your life is a portrait of happiness.

One of the most beautiful movies I have ever seen in my life and one of my favorites. Everything was perfect, from the characters, to the story, to the ending, it was just amazing. I find that nowadays it is hard to find these kind of beautiful movies that make you cry of joy. I really wish they would start making more of these.

Based on a Nicholas Sparks novel, The Longest Ride is a touching romantic drama. The story follows an aspiring art major and a professional bull rider who fall in love, and have a chance encounter with an art collector that alters their lives forever. Britt Robertson and Scott Eastwood lead the cast and give especially good performance, having great chemistry together. But the script is a bit of a problem, as the plot is over-stuffed; deliver two love stories for the price of one. And at times it can be a little emotionally manipulative. Yet while it has some issues, The Longest Ride is a compelling film about the power of love to overcome adversity.
