Yeah wow, this movie was terrible. I felt like it was all over the place. Only thing that movie left me wondering was why I spent the time to buy it and watch it.

Yea, I am not sure about this one. I think I will have to rewatch it to completely take it in.

Started it. Couldn't finish it and _wouldn't_ finish it. Just bad.

It's not the worst movie I've ever watched, but it's up there, very close.

The Lords of Salem is somewhat of a departure for Rob Zombie, it's a slow-burn horror movie that relies on atmosphere instead of the violence, and gore that are typically his trademark. Unlike most of his other films, this is not set in the '70s, but it still has the same look and feel of that time, given Sheri Moon's vintage clothes. I can tell Rob was drawing heavy influence from horror classics like Rosemary's Baby, The Shinning, and The Omen. While it starts off very subdued, the movie goes into a full on psychedelic nightmare at the end. Lots of great actors from the genre are in the cast - not the least of which is Barbara Crampton.
A24 started the same year that TLoS released, which is interesting, because it would fit in perfectly with the sort of arthouse pictures they are known for.
Probably my least favorite of Zombie's movies, but it's still really good. This is easily his most experimental, and no doubt divisive, film.

Great premise and cast, but it all fizzles out in the end...

Waste of time. No moral or outcome that you may think is relevant. Poor poor poor

I wonder why some folks really dislike the movie? Not brutal enough or something I guess? While it's not that special it's still more enjoyable than some of the recent horror outings. I'm certain some of the pacing issues can be traced back to the fact that Richard Lynch died while they were still filming (at least that's what I belive). The idea with the record was pretty cool but unfortunatley we never got to see to want extent it affected the women we see at the beginning. The rest of the story is basicly Rosemary's Baby with some interesting visuals attached to it. Not a must see movie but still OK.

@mfrafael: The Devil's Rejects is your favorite horror film.. :o?

Rob Zombie managed to make the best horror movie I've ever seen... with The Devil's Rejects.
This one is just so terrible I've slept three times trying to watch it.
