Entertaining movie, but not nearly as good as the original.

Wouldn't call it the worst of the year. I mean, Have you seen "Big Mommas"? :S

I may have been a little too harsh on this before because of my love for the original. It's actually a pretty decent remake. Doesn't reinvent the wheel or anything, but for a time waster, it's an okay actioner.

Don't know how many of you noticed it, but I kept seeing a boom mic through-out the entire movie. Usually top of the screen almost dead center or slightly above the actors heads.

On paper, the plot is pretty cool, but the delivery fell a little flat. I like Statham and Foster a lot as actors, and they did pretty good with that they have, I just didn't really enjoy the explosions and action as much as I thought I would.

Just finished the movie, could not care whether he lived or died at the end. Actually, the best thing that could have happened is that the movie actually went up in flames before it even started, since it would have saved me quite a bit of time.

Like, seriously. I know what to expect of a Jason Statham movie by now, but even this one was too uncooked. 80% of the scenes are either irrelevant, dispensable, or both. Also, there's not a significant female character in the whole movie (actually, the only two female characters with lines in the movie just show up to be f***ed, and yes, I'm not counting the daughter and the wife of the security guard because they are on screen for some 16 seconds overall).

It's a fun film but there are better action films out and better films with Jason Statham as well, it's a bit of a throwaway film with some really cool action sequences and also Ben Foster is really good in the film.

The best description of this film is it is a popcorn film that is fun to kill a bit of time.

There are some clichéd action plot points and there are some fairly flat moments but The Mechanic makes up for it with a great final act and a good dynamic between Ben Foster and Jason Statham. The action is well done. There probably could've been a bit more character work but for a 90 minute action film it works.

A typical, but decent film added to Jason Statham's resume. While it's a remake of a movie I've never seen, I believe this film fits well with Statham, who made it his own. Personally looking forward to seeing the sequel, as he hasn't really made a movie featuring himself as a main character in a good while. No, he's not exactly Oscar material, but he's fun and apparently never ages.

Entertaining action movie for sure. Although it had an interesting ending, it's not really a story you have to think about. No need to see it again, but I'm going to watch the sequel now.

Perfectly serviceable and entertaining (if not predictable) action movie with a little thrill to it.

Statham is Statham. Can't argue with that as he's very solid for what he does.
