When aspiring horror filmmakers post an online casting call looking for "real life" monsters to interview for their upcoming documentary called, The Monster Project, they find three individuals claiming to be a skin-walker, a vampire, and a demon. Meeting these monsters at a remote mansion in the woods on the night of a total lunar eclipse, the filmmakers invite the three subjects to share their haunting, personal experiences. Working on the crew is a recovering drug addict who suffers withdrawal and paranoia. As a person of faith, he fears his friends underestimate the dark powers they are summoning. When the interviews turn deadly, he must battle the demons, inside and out, to escape the house and defeat the rise of evil incarnate.

Complete waste of time. Poor visual effects, poor script and overall just a bunch of bad actors. Especially the Jamal character, who, when he's on camera, can't seem to get out a single sentence without flailing his arms around like a mad man and is overacting every scene he's in. He's just annoying and he reminds me of JarJar Binks for some reason... Really poor, just skip this one.

Underneath the bad dialog, clownish special effects, and awkward, preachy messaging there is a halfway decent movie idea that deserved better than this. There are some neat camera shots, but for each creative moment, there are five tacky jump scares. Also, they make a joke about the black character making less than the white dude who just joined as an assistant, so that sucks. Credit where it's due, most of the scenes with the skinwalker are legit.

I gave this movie a 7. It should really have gotten an 8 though. In a genre where everything has been done this movie definitely breaks the mold. The ending definitely has a twist being that the entire movie is set up for the "monster interviews" which did not play out as long as I would have liked and then abruptly changes direction. Don't get me wrong....the twist was a plus. The only downfall this movie has was that more time should have been devoted to the monsters, like some background stories instead of character relationship development. All in all, definitely a good watch for true horror fans. A plus to the found footage type films.

In my never ending naivety of trying out not too shabby looking found footage movies I gave this one a try. As @kingkon_nl already pointed out this isn't one for the highlight reel. My problem isn't necessarily with the poor FX or the bad acting (Jamal is just as bonkers behind the camera) b More

They were probably inspired by Grave Encounters. The basic idea behind it is in fact the same: A film crew, which is searching the supernatural but does not believe in it, will learn that monsters/demons/ghosts are real.

And in the end, [spoiler] this film turned out as just another Satanic cult More
