Jim Henson’s Muppets hit the big time in The Muppet Movie. In their first feature film the Muppets retell the story of how Kermit the Frog set off for Hollywood and found a group of friends who shared his dream of stardom. Like the television show, the film is full of witty, campy humor, and features a number of celebrity cameos from the likes of Steve Martin, Mel Brooks, Bob Hope, Richard Pryor, Orson Welles, and many more. Additionally, the musicals are immensely fun and entertaining, delivering such classics as “The Rainbow Connection” and “Can You Picture That.” Fun for all ages, The Muppet Movie is a wonderful family film.

Smart, funny and has aged really well over 40 years. Jim Henson's legacy still rings high today.

The Muppets have been with me for literally as long as I can remember. They are absolutely timeless. Everytime I watch them, and I have watched everything multiple times, I am having a lot of fun. They are a great means of escapism from your daily problems.

I must be missing something...sure there’s a few jokes that are kind of funny (the kind someone’s Dad makes where you inwardly roll your eyes and groan) but most of the film is just silly. I don’t want to listen to puppets singing out of tune, maybe I’m the wrong generation but it wasn’t for me.

"Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection. The lovers, the dreamers, and me."

Wacka, wacka, wacka, wacka!

The Muppet Movie never fails to entertain me. I can't wait to watch it with my niece in a few years! I bet she'll love it! I don't know if there's a Dutch version but she will just have to deal with the subbed one.

Anyway I simply just love the Rainbow Connection song. Comes along in my Spotify list once in awhile and usually I put it on repeat after. But somehow they made every song fun. Love that every Muppet shines while singing their song.

And how about Kermit cycling? Or Animal turning into a Kaiju monster? The Snake Walker? Orson Welles at the end? Mel Brooks? Steve Martin? Richard Pryor? Bob Hope? So many great cameos!

Just like everything with the Muppets, not everything might be a hit but those little puppets all have a place in my heart.
