as yet another sufferer of sleep paralysis, this movie did resonate with me. i have had situations similar to many of those in the movie. most vividly, one where i was abducted by aliens, similar to the 'zines' described by one man, although with a less cartoonish look than he explained. i have also had various sleep paralysis episodes where i was able to move around, lucidly and then suddenly i would be paralyzed and unable to move.

please keep in mind that one of the symptoms of sleep paralysis is the very fact that there are hallucinations that come with it. MAYBE for you it wasn't scary, but don't invalidate the experiences of many others just because it didn't happen to you, wtf.

As a "sleep paralysis" sufferer myself all these allegations of shadow men, demons screaming in your ears or demons calling your cellphone are bullshit!!! I cant emphasize that enough. The only thing that was indeed true is that you feel like you're suffocating.

And FYI, YOUR GOD DAMNED EYES AREN'T OPEN WITH "SLEEP PARALYSIS"!!!!!! THAT'S WHY ITS CALLED "SLEEP PARALYSIS", BECAUSE YOU'RE CONSCIOUS BUT CANT SEEM TO WAKE UP; AND BY WAKE UP I MEAN: MOVE A MUSCLE OR OPEN YOUR FREAKING EYES!!!! Hence the name "sleep paralysis".

All these testimonies are so fake! I can assure you "sleep paralysis" has nothing to do with the supernatural! NOTHING WHAT SO EVER!!! If it was so "TRUE" why not record them in the act???? Oh, that's right ... BECAUSE THEY'RE LYING!!!!!!!!

your experience is not everyone else's experience. many of these things have happened to me as well. maybe it's not supernatural, but it's surely a thing that has happened. i have had a shadow man, dreams where i was lucid and then suddenly paralyzed, so please don't call a movie bullshit when you are only one person. many others have the same kind of experiences with sleep paralysis.

@witwolfy We have to agree that everyone has different experiences. When I had it, my eyes were open, I couldn't move them nor the rest of my body. I felt I was being attacked by a demon. It wasn't supernatural but at that moment it made me feel like it was.<br /> movie itself it's a bit meh because it was turned more into a horror than a documentary. But other than that some of the stories are similar to what have happened to me.

I had a sleep paralysis only once in my life. The period when I had it I was “haunted” by poltergeist-like phenomena (which I experienced while fully awake over a period of several years),

Due to my own experience I don’t think the science explanation with hallucinations makes sense. This is something else but why it happens and why particular people experience it I don’t know.

Most of these people's experiences were nothing like my own experiences with sleep paralysis. Mine, luckily, have usually not been scary in any regard other than "Why can't I wake up"? The woman talking about the dark figure sitting on top of her was the most familiar to me -- I once had a night terror very similar to that, which was absolutely terrifying -- but I had that particular type of experience only once, I'm glad to say. Usually for me it's like being at the bottom of a deep swimming pool and I am fighting my way upward but can never seem to break the surface until after I've *thought* I've woken up already several times over. It's more disturbing than outright scary. But it's interesting to hear about other people's experiences with it.

I didn't know much about the topic going in, and I don't feel like I know much more after. I would have preferred a combination of testimony with some scientific research. Aside from that, the testimony wasn't all that interesting. This can be skipped.

Just like Mr. Ascher's previous documentary "Room 237" (which I consider to be overrated drivel), this is once again a series of interviews with people of various degrees of sanity. Most of these are not very interesting and the reenactments they're set to are often quite cringey.
