I hoped a lot from this movie because of The Conjuring and Annabelle but it was not so good. Story was very simple. At most of the scenes i was laughing instead of getting shocked. I was also to blame for getting so hyped up!

This has to be the biggest disappointment of the year.

James Wan is the master of Horror and the only one who really know how to direct a horror movie nowadays .Period

Good photography and performances. But all the terror was contained in the jump scare ... It didn't scare anymore.

“The Nun” is weighed down by a poor script, however the movie boasts a chilling atmosphere, admirable set designs and genuine scares, which places it above a lot of other horror movies.

I found that this film failed to live up to the horror expectation as nothing was really scary, the fact that some bits had a slight comedy effect to them just seems wrong in what was supposed to be the horror of the year.

It does give the backstory to The Nun about what it is and how it was created but I thought it was kinda boring and couldve been made much more interesting as well as giving it more scare value.

This second Conjuring spin-off failed to impress me yet again. Although "The Nun" has an interesting setting and an appealing mystery as the catalyst of the plot, the fifth part of the franchise degenerates far too often into a movie-like haunted train ride. The titular nun jumps into the picture for one jump scare after another. Any subtlety is, of course, lost as a result, and boredom sets in. Like the doll in "Annabelle", the demon nun doesn't have much to offer besides her creepy look. She is also demystified very quickly by her omnipresence. However, Demián Bichir and Taissa Farmiga get plus points from me, as they deliver solid performances in the leading roles. But it's definitely not enough for a recommendation from me.

Just like the demon...there is nothing to save this film...

If you cannot make a decent horror flick with a convent in Romania, a set of creepy nuns and a good setup from a previous film than you should never make another film. That is definitely true of Corin Hardy (the director of the film). The film lacks the impetus and coherence of The Conjuring and it's successor. While one feels that there is room to disagree about the success or failures of the Annabelle franchise, there really isn't any room to disagree about the awfulness of this film.

The least scary “scary movie” I’ve ever seen. I had such high hopes, but it was more of a comedy than a horror movie.

My expectations were nun when I went into this film and it didn't disappoint.

Fear and humour are opposite sides of the same coin: the unexpected. Sadly, even the jump scares are predictable in The Nun, so there is no respite from the boredom that will haunt you from the opening credits.

If you're looking for scares and fun, you'll find nun in this movie.

So I was hyped for the Nun, didn't watch the trailer but only because I enjoyed the Conjuring 1 and 2 so much. So I was hoping the trend would continue! But sadly it didn't.

I'm usually not that bothered by scripts but this one is so bad. It is all to set up jump scares. AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN WORK. Even with your eyes closed you could see them coming from miles away! So bad!

But! I do have to point out that I really liked the whole setting, I think more people have mentioned it, but it has some kind of old Hammer feel to it. Really cool! Wish we saw that more these days!

Anyway, the performances are decent but the story is just so bad. It would've been great if it was bad in a good way, but sadly no. Hopefully we'll get a Conjuring 3 that can do the franchise justice again!!

A couple of good scenes but mostly just disappointing, with every atmospheric moment leading to a jump scare. Not a single scream in the cinema. The props by the cinema staff were scarier.

It is nice to have a flick that is actually scary in my mix this Halloween season. The Nun remains creepy throughout, doesn't rely on a working knowledge of the other Conjuring films, and brings some scares beyond the JUMP SCARE that you see in their trailer. Worth checking it out. 7/10
