Love with all my heart to see animals made with CGI instead of real ones but the plot itself kinda lost me, not gonna lie, even if this is a Disney movie and it is intentended to be for the whole family, lowkey I was wishing
that Mack don't get away with that so easily but then again I'm sure that happened with the real one so...
Love everyone of the characters, we need more Disney movies like this!

Nothing all that fresh, but it certainly made me feel for the characters so that's always a big plus.

The cast elevate the film, for sure! Bryan Cranston, no matter the nature of any role he plays, is always enjoyable and/or likeable. He brings heart as Mack, as do Sam Rockwell (Ivan) and Angelina Jolie (Stella). I liked Danny DeVito as Bob, while Ariana Greenblatt portrays the wholesome Julia well.

The (true) premise is something we've all seen before, as such you're just waiting for the 'penny to drop' so the film can get going - once that happens onscreen events do improve, culminating in a very touching end. 'The One and Only Ivan' is ideal for family viewing, I'd say.

It's an ok movie but with a very important message.
Please don't go to circuses that use animals!!! Animals don't belong in cages and there's always abuse behind the scenes.

My kids got bored but it was a very moving film for me and the Mrs. I really enjoyed it. One of the better Disney films of recent years.

The film contains the usual elements of Disney family cinema, but this time executed with talent. A story that is moving, perhaps with an excessively sad tone, but that achieves a fluid narration. It is one of the most prominent titles of the production company this year, although its melancholy may condemn it to remain in the background.

This movie deserves more credit than the live action versions of Aladin and Dumbo.
Feels like a real Disney.

Probably the best movie of the year.
It has a beautiful and sad story, with some very beautiful landscapes.
Some very well made animals because you realize that they are not real like in Rogue (that very weak 2020 movie with Megan Fox).
It was very well played.
It's just a movie you won't forget so quickly, maybe the name, but it's a very good movie and it's worth a grade of 10.

I have a soft spot for animals, so I enjoyed watching the movie, and the graphics made them look so realistic, including bob the doggo, who's so adorable

The plot comes from a children’s book, which took inspiration from real life. So we may not know how Ivan felt in real life, but the story kind of sugarcoats it so while children can feel sad, they wouldn't be mortified at the conditions he faced and knowing the actual truth is more heartbreaking.

It's worth watching once, and I'm glad it got Oscar-nominated for visuals because it is stunning.

PS- there is a 1-2 second end credit scene, so don't miss it (:

[4.75 of 10] I feel like I am the only person who didn't like this film. Full disclosure - I watched it because I am going through all of the Oscar-nominated films & I wouldn't have watched it otherwise. I found the talking "live-action" animals very off-putting. While I have watched a bunch of animated films lately that I can identify with, this film was absolutely a movie made with exclusively kids in mind. It wasn't particularly bad but the storytelling was mediocre & the true story of Ivan is far more compelling yet less easily consumed by kids & family. The acting was pretty solid but I couldn't imagine the dog, Bob, as anything else but Danny DeVito which killed any immersion as his character is in a lot of the film. I will not be watching this again.

Sweet, sad, and fun. Unfortunately also a bit boring but it was a moving and thought provoking story. Julia kinda stole the show though (so sweet and innocent - like Ruby) :D
