This was a pleasant surprise. Well acted, smart, and surprisingly suspenseful. Highly recommended. Just remember, he's a cutter, not a tailor!

Well tailored performance from Mark Rylance, but I got tired pretty quickly from all those twists and turns

Not nearly as clever as one is set up to believe it's all going to be, but you're really just there for the Mark Rylance show. Pity more isn't made of the claustrophobic setting. Perhaps with smarter filmmaking...

Whatta film!

'The Outfit' is excellent. Second time in roughly three weeks that I've had the pleasure of seeing a Mark Rylance flick on the big screen and again he delivers - such a reliable actor. The other release was 'The Phantom of the Open', which is very good but both the film and Rylance's performance is bettered here. A thoroughly enjoyable showing from him as Leonard Burling.

Things start off extremely strongly with a terrific opening scene with Rylance's Burling, so I was praying that it would keep that high level and I'm pleased to say that - in my opinion, of course - it absolutely did. There's a bit at the end that I was initially unsure about, though upon further thought I enjoyed it just as much as the rest.

One element of this 2022 production actually stays the same from start-to-finish, I won't say what but early on I thought it may limit proceedings but if anything it just adds to the overall vibe of it all. The support cast, meanwhile, are all faces I didn't know before now, though every one of them give good performances - standouts being Johnny Flynn and Nikki Amuka-Bird.

Very good watch. I went in not knowing anything and was entertained the whole time. It's like a tightly-plotted play.

Mark Rylance, the legend that he is, steals the show. He has such huge screen presence, you can be forgiven for mistaking this movie to have only a single member of cast!!!

A fantastic cinematic masterpiece. This is a film for movie bluffs and/or videographers who like to dive deep into the analysis of a movie. This film takes place in one setting and takes a lot of effort to unravel everything from plot to characters to antagonists to conflict, ect. Starts out slow and normal then takes a turn, but overall it certainly keeps you on the edge of your seat the entirety of the film. The close up and intense acting to fit the script is very entertaining. However, if you are a person who just wants a generic entertaining film that doesn't use much brain power, this is not the movie for you.

Great watch, but goddamn woke Hollywood just can’t help themselves checking the diversity boxes to take you out of the experience. The head of the French mafia a black woman, nice.

This isn't a documentary, it's a fictional movie about fictional people. There's nothing that takes you out of the "experience."

Rylance is superb and makes the film himself. Film which starts with a boring and slow pace, but improves over time towards the ending. Not too convinced about some passages and resolution, and of some character beyond the protagonist, especially the females depicted in a way a bit too modern.

It just didn't click with me. By the end there wasn't a single character I cared about.

Superb.

The cast is superb; Rylance carries his role with such conviction and grace it's hard to believe he's acting. The rest of the cast also deliver stellar performances.

The story, the pacing, the backdrop, the music... all of it culminates together into a wonderful experience.

The Outfit aims for perfection and does not miss.

The movie was quite good and the acting was great.
But it got a little boring due to the lack of different sceneries, what kinda pulls my rating down a little

What a well made, perfectly written and executed film, and to say that Graham Moore pulled it off on his 2nd film itself is huge. Sir Mark Rylance was just :type_1_2:.... And Zoey Deutch ofcourse was another showstopper. The way the movie started and ended was so shocking to me that i dived into the movie without even watching the trailer, i just saw that it was made by Graham Moore, had Mark, Zoey & Dylan in it and thought, Meh why not ?!! And wow !! In a single location with less than only 10 people throughout the whole film they executed it with perfection....

I've really been loving single-setting movies recently, and this one is no different. The characters shine here, and Mark Rylance's performance is especially great.

Rylance showcase that gets a little too carried away w certain plot developments. I'm trying not to spoil.
Enjoyable single location movie. Felt like i was watching a play which as it turns out this is based off of.
7.1 feels fair.

This is one of those movies that once you finish it you know you'll never watch again and then delete it. That's what I did. This is never a "I'm going to watch that again" movie, because once you know it you know it.

That being said, I think the acting is pretty good in this. It's not an action flick, it's play that is on your TV, with a single set. Think of movies like 12 Angry Men where everything happens in a single room, essentially a stage. If you like plays, you'll like this, if you enjoy good acting and a story with an unexpected twist, you'll like this but if you are looking for action then you won't.

The lead performance was outstanding in my opinion.
