What an impressive movie, you're on the edge of your seat a lot of times. Humor and grief so close together. Also stay for the end credits you'll get real interviews with survivors!

One of the best war films to come out in recent years. Though at first it may seem like a generic war film and given the VOD cast and the poster I wouldn't blame you. But the theme, story and battle sequences are impressive to say the least. Please don't be put off by the disjointed first half, because the latter half makes up for it in entirety.

All in all, don't skip this one. It is definitely much better and deep than the Mark Wahlberg shoot 'em ups out there.

I don't know what to say about this movie. It is definitely worth watching to see how our tax dollars are spent. As a veteran Marine I will just say that the movie left me more than just a little pissed off to watch my brothers in arms die so needlessly. While I can't question the brass for putting them there without intelligence reports, more should definitely have been done to secure their position. This was a CLUSTER FUCK of the highest magnitude! This is not just a war movie. Please understand that Americans gave their lives when you watch this movie. These are not "characters" and hopefully at the end you are as outraged as I am.

Typical American war Movie, nothing special about it, always the heroes and always the others are the bad guys.

_The Outpost_ is an intense war movie that depicts the true story of a group of U.S. soldiers stationed at Combat Outpost Keating in Afghanistan. The movie does an excellent job of capturing the horrors of war and the daily struggles of soldiers in combat. The action scenes are well-executed, with the soldiers facing incredible odds against a relentless enemy. What sets _The Outpost_ apart is its focus on character development, as we get to know each soldier and their motivations for being there. The performances are outstanding, particularly by Scott Eastwood, Caleb Landry Jones, and Orlando Bloom. The movie also sheds light on the sacrifices made by our military and the importance of recognizing and honoring those who have served. Overall, _The Outpost_ is a powerful reminder of the bravery and resilience of our troops.

I had heard good things about this from some critics I follow, so despite the somewhat underwhelming look of the trailer and poster, I still gave it a go. And I'm really glad I did. This is a very grounded, gritty, and somewhat nihilistic (yet hopeful?) look at modern day soldiers in a less than stellar spot with even lesser odds of survival. And it doesn't hurt that the action scenes are absolutely visceral and in your face. The Outpost is likely what Michael Bay was trying to make when he did 13 Hours, but...it's Michael Bay so there wasn't the nuance in that that there is here.

This movie is excellent and based on true story. Starts slow and builds itself up, addrenaline shot. Just like Hawsack Ridge, The Kill Team, Jarhead, Man Down, Fury, Thank You For Your Service these movies have good messages. Stop war make love and peace. Soldiers go through so much pain mental suffering. 10 out of 10 for me!! Congrats great work!

Based on the Battle of Kamdesh in the Afghanistan War, The Outpost is a gritty and captivating film. The story follows a group of soldiers who are sent to Outpost Keating, one of the most indefensible US bases in Afghanistan, as they ward off regular attacks by the Taliban, culminating is a full-on assault in one of the bloodiest battles of the war in which two soldiers received the Medal of Honor for their heroic actions. Starring Scott Eastwood, Orlando Bloom, and Caleb Landry Jones, the film has a pretty good cast that delivers strong performances. However, there are some pacing issues, as the plot lags at times, and there’s a lot of needless vulgarity and crassness to show how tough and on edge the soldiers are. Still, the fight sequences are incredibly intense and exciting. And director Rod Lurie does an impressive job at using the locations and showing how isolated and confined the base was. The Outpost has its problems, but in the end proves to be a powerful film about the courage and sacrifice.

The movie itself is pretty fucking good, when the action started I didn't look away for a second and suddenly an hour went by.
Very engaging and the build up for the characters was also pretty well done.

Though, the whole movie is based on a real story because of dickheads at top at the army who don't care about the lives of soldiers.
They should have never based the outpost at that position, everyone knew and they still went through with it.
Anyone following those orders or accepting the idea is equally guilty for all the deaths there.
There is no way in hell that there wasn't a better place to put up the base around that region.

At least they "learned" from it, sucks that in almost every aspect of life something needs to go horribly wrong before changing an obvious flaw.

Excellent, harrowing, the harse reality of the war in Afghanistan.
A very good portrail of a true story.
Once the action starts its non stop, watch through the credits as well for more quick interaction from the men who were there!

Phenomenal movie depicting a historical account of a US outpost in Afghanistan which was seemingly set up for failure despite the unwavering bravery of the soldiers assigned there. Great action thriller movie, stayed glued to the screen for most of it.
