One of the newest trends on Twitter is to add the word "comfort" in front of several things. While "comfort food" has been going on since forever, we now have "comfort TV Shows," "Comfort Character" or "Comfort Movies."

I don’t use that term very often. But even I have to admit there are certain films that bring me comfort when I‘m feeling down or just need a good time to relax. This is one of them.

Base on Erich Kästner‘s book "Das Doppelte Lottchen" and a remake of the 1961 version, This film tells the story of twins Hallie and Annie (Lindsay Lohan) who were separated at birth after their parents' divorce. Hallie grew up with her father (Dennis Quaid) in California and Annie with her mother (Natasha Richardson) in London, never knowing the other existed. That until they meet by chance in a summer camp. After initial hostility they discover the truth and decide to trade places, to not only get to know their other parent, but also scheme to reunite them and become a family again.

I don’t think I have seen the Version from the 60s and the only other adaptation I‘m familiar with is a German one from the 90s but I prefer this one by a long shot.

It’s one of these movies I grew up on and have seen so many times I can probably speak along. It’s still an absolute delight to watch. It’s funny, without trying too hard, well acted (young Lindsay Lohan is fantastic in her double role) and has so much heart.

It’s one of those films I can always put on and enjoy over and over again.
