A master piece to show us what Christ suffered for our sins, for the salvation of the entire world.

Brutal and tough to watch... Whether you believe or not doesn't matter...there is no denying that Jesus Christ was the fuckin mannn...he took an ass whoopin for what he believed in... coulda rolled over and died like a punk, and just gave up but they tortured his ass to death and he not only didn't give in, he forgave too? He's a stronger man than I...I woulda asked my father to rain down hellfire and brimstone and that sequel would be 'hot' as hell bahahaha

A brutal and graphic depiction of the last few hours of Jesus. It's refreshing for how blunt and realistically things are portrayed. It also really hits home the idea of the suffering this man went through, yet still "sacrifices himself for mankind".

Mel Gibson delivers a raw and uncompromising vision of the Crucifixion in The Passion of the Christ that takes it out of mythology and makes it an experience that cannot be forgotten. The film forces the audience to go through the suffering and death of Jesus of Nazareth on a visceral level unlike anything that has been done before. It’s extraordinarily emotionally draining, drawing the audience in so as to feel every whiplash and every nail of the cross. The imagery is haunting and is assisted by the use of the Aramaic language to create a completely immersive experience that transcends film. The Passion of the Christ isn’t entertainment, not by any stretch of the imagination, but instead acts as a Rorschach test that challenges the audience.

As a mediaphile and a student of the Bible, I add to my celebration of Easter and Christmas a revisit to two cinematic productions, THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST and THE NATIVITY, that sought to transpose the scriptural accounts into their historical contexts. As a film cannot contain the whole of a book, neither can it encompass all of the scholastic research on the crucification or birth of Jesus (there will be errors and omissions), however it can do what movies do so well - it can move us into the perspective of those who were part of that event. Both of these movies do this for me. Both have stellar casts who give us great performances. The cinematography is profound, the scores are beautiful. The choice of locations tell their own stories well. For all of those reasons, I give these films 10 (splendid) out of 10. [Historical Drama]

One of the most powerful, well crafted, well acted and brutal movies ever made. A once in a lifetime experience. "The Passion of the Christ" will leave you speechless and crying.

I like the crual nature they showed. I wish it wss for a different setting though.

There was little to no point in having the subject be jezus... If they hasn't spend the first 15mins talking about it it could have been a random dude for all we know.

First time consciously watching this movie and even if I'm not really religious I'm not a person that tolerate injustice so well it was really hard to watch but also enjoyed a more clear depiction of what happened to Jesus in his last hours

Why is Mel Gibson not credited with this move. He was the Director.
