Who in the cat hair comes up with these scripts?!!!! And why is there no one to edit them?!!! _"When I raise your hand down, you go down..."_ (00:25:33) Can someone explain to this old ignorant country boy how in the world you _raise something down_ ??? And it never ceases to amaze me - and this is not just in Seagal movies, but in general - how an entire team of "assassins" armed to the teeth can't hit diddly squat, while a lone soldier armed with a handgun stands there and picks them all off, one shot at a time.... I swear, these are getting more and more ridiculous. And yet, for some insane reason (I blame my OCD) I continue to watch every single film that has Steven Seagal in it...this one not being the worst, but perhaps the most confusing and ridiculous. I don't understand how the guy keeps churning out movies but here we are. In this particular film, he plays almost a bit part, although his character is central to the story; I guess he just wants to be a fat old villain now since he can't play the lightning-fast toughest-guy-on-the-planet hero part any longer. Here, Seagal plays the role of "Director" - an unnamed villain who somehow oversees the entire human population - and manages to manipulate everyone around him. Enter Johnny Messner (who, by the way, played a great role here) who is the untouchable "killing machine" - the "Perfect Weapon" - who gets turned around, flipped upside down, turned inside-out, and generally just gets confused as all get-out by what's real, what's not, what's right, what's wrong, who's doing what to whom, who can be trusted, who can't be trusted, blah blah blah blah blah.... Such a convoluted story that it was hard to follow from start to finish. I don't even know if I can recommend this as an "action flick" since there was not really a lot of "action" other than some shooting scenes. No, it wasn't Steven Seagal's worst, but wow, it was just completely.... I don't even know what it was supposed to be: sci-fi, action, whatever... It was just stupid. Hats off to this Johnny Messner dude because he really pulled off his character but man this was a bizarre (and no, I don't mean that in a GOOD way) movie. I'm glad I could sneak this one in at work so at least I got paid to watch this mess.
