A group of Korean tourists is taken hostage by an extremist Taliban group in Afghanistan. The Korean government dispatches Jae-ho, known as one of Korea’s most skilled diplomats, in order to handle the situation. Once he arrives, he asks for the Afghan government’s cooperation and uses every means possible to free the hostages. However, his efforts go in vain. Due to his failure, he’s forced to work with Dae-sik, a special agent who is an expert on the Middle East. As they begin making their move to get to the Taliban, the first hostage death occurs. With nowhere else to turn, the two become unlikely allies in a race against time to save the rest of the hostages.

Lower your expectations even if there are 2 well-known actors in it. Well, the acting is okay, but the story, comedy and characters are flat. Not to mention the annoying scoring, it has no benefit in building tension in the film. Even the script alone cannot bring tension to the film. The Point Men is not clear where the author wants to take it. Even the author was confused about what to make of our 2 main characters. Although Jung can't show that he is a great negotiator, what about Dae-sik? It's the same in my opinion, too much of a big deal in fact he doesn't have any influence in the film. The negotiation part is a cool part, even though it ends in an anti-climax.

An engaging and well made hostage drama which outlines the horrors of Taliban.

The Point Men is an extremely well made , realistic tale of one of the biggest hostage crisis of South Korea. The Koreans have a great art of taking up real life incidents and converting them into hard-hitting , no nonse More
