The climax is actually kind of romantic, happy and emotional. A fitting end to a mostly very flat and boring film.

**Mark Fleischmann** (who apparently appears in _Inception_) brings a few good laughs, but they remain the only truly funny parts of the entire film.

**Nick Sagar** and **Alexa Adeosun** perform good enough, and are definitely the best parts of the principal cast. Neither one leave a lasting impression though and Adeosun falls for childish over-performing every now and then .

There are some romantic and somewhat sweet moments that create a warm atmosphere and the Christmas spirit sprinkled throughout the story is mostly flawless.

:frowning2:

Former Disney-star **Vanessa Hudgens** is less of a star in this film. She is totally uninspiring and mostly horrible in her double role.

The basic story has been done several times over with different setups, so it is incredibly predictable. They aren't even trying to make the script stand out from all of the other films with similar plots. And trust me, this idea has been made better several times before.

The scenes with Hudgens and the anonymous **Sam Palladio** are awkward because they lack any onscreen chemistry together. It doesn't help that Palladio is stiff as a Christmas tree.

The script tries to shove the idea of the two pairs being the perfect couple with each other firmly down our throats, but the idea feels less and less believable each time as the actors are so awkward together.

The plot is so silly, illogical and childish that even some Christmas magic can't save it. But man do the try to convince us!

:face_vomiting:

Hudgens is bad as her American self, but she is even worse as the duchess, with that horrible excuse of a British accent. "Do I really sound so Downtown Abbey?" No Vanessa, you sound a lot worse!

Those British stereotypes and jokes are worn out and not funny at all. The same can be said about the jokes that make fun of Americans.

You know a bad Netflix Christmas film has lost all hope when the protagonists contemplate watching another bad Netflix Christmas film as a romantic Friday night past time. That's just shameless self-advertising.

The characters are all one-sided and really only have one dominating characteristic. They barely develop throughout the film.
